Track / Street Exhaust Setups

High flow cats are fun, I'm partial to the Dundon 2.0 long tube headers +cats that came out last year... mainly because now I can drive cycle once and actually pass. As with any long tube header you may change enough to need a tune so you don't deal with P0420 errors. If you're a CA resident imo they are a slight risk since you'll need to un-install the Cobb before going in for testing, I say risk because once you un-install the tune you'll need to do a full drive cycle which can set off your CEL again from 02 efficiency, which means you have to clear the codes and try again, and again
So my long tube set up was on my white .1 with no tune and it passed smog with flying colors, then again on the RS with a tune (Evoms) and once again passed with flying colors. That was a few days before that law kicked in. This coming registration when I have to smog again, I'll be taking it in with the tune on the car to see if it can still pass. If not, back to the house then buy that flash loader and removed the tune. Arghhh, hope it doesn't come to that.

I'm assuming that the Dundon is using the HJS 200's. Good stuff!

When I lived in CA I registered my vehicles at a UPS Store in a no-smog county. Saved a lot of headache.

Is there a way whoever has the Supersprint system can measure the tube diameter and tube length and post it up here?

I’ve had a few SuperSprint parts on previous E46 M3s and their quality, sound, and actual power making abilities are unmatched in that market.
Also excellent customer service.
This threads definitely got me thinking about some stuff. Anyone in SoCal with their headers?

If so, I'd love to compare them with my Brombacher headers. Even a pull against each other would be ok with me.

i have the full cargraphic exhaust system with 200 cell cats it's perfect... no drone... and still sensible sound wise and passes emissions (smoke test) without any problem

Wow, wonder how old this system is as I don't see it on their website. Looks like it's either going to be super loud with a straight muffler-less path to the atmosphere, or with the valves closed, super quiet and having to travel the long way through two mufflers. Interesting set up
Another thing is that undercarriage. Looks like a brand new US spec car.

I’m finally circling back on this thread with the setup I ultimately went with.
Supersprint long tube headers with test pipes in place of cats. For now, paired with a stock center section. I went from Cargraphics long tube / catted with a Franken-Sharkwerks track exhaust rear section to this. That setup was bonkers loud. Couldn’t pass sound at NCM (or anywhere else), and my ears were beleaguered after a year of that setup. Also wanted some more flexibility on rear section choices.
Took about 6 weeks lead time from Italy. Was somewhat confused on unboxing, as the headers were all individual tubes, and I was expecting them welded to a mounting plate as shown on SS’s website. They also included an extraneous bag of hardware that had no application for what I ordered.
Ultimately didn’t matter, and once the headers were paired with the collector, install was a breeze. The design is elegant and the welds are gorgeous. Top notch craftsmanship, as others have noted.
So far, this system has a much cleaner, higher-pitched, “pure” sound. It’s (relatively) quiet at idle and under gentle throttle. Nice depth and burble at lower RPMs when stabbed, and screams pretty meanly at WOT. Reminds me of an S54 note when really hammering. I can hear much more of the mechanical murmurs now that were previously just drowned out. It’s nice. Can actually tool around town in it without wincing and scaring the **** out of everyone.
Still only on my second drive of any length, but I can tell it lost some mid-range power and torque with the stock rear center from the old straight pipe setup. Not a ton, though. Low end feels a little stronger, and top end screams the way it did before. Pics, revs, and flyby below.

Sounds very refined! Love it.
While I never had their headers on any of my E46 M3s, I did various combinations of their sections 1,2 and both the street and race mufflers.
Very high quality products and all of which gave that very distinct and "crisp" sound.
I watched the videos before reading your post and had the same thought that its reminiscent of an S54 with their pieces.
