Thanks in advance for the ideas and/or advice.
try the RSS center bypass. Best sounding center bypass I’ve ever heard/owned.

+1 to this! I don’t have much of a frame of reference having just received the car, but it came with RSS (all stock upstream) and it goes from remarkably quiet at idle to utterly vicious at revs.

Nice! I'm liking the long tube headers more and more as they settle in. Now tempted to see what the rear center is like. I just wish it had modular tip options, as I suspect I'll still need to add "quiet" tips at NCM.

This center muffler is not supposed to be any louder than stock, so that it meets sound restrictions. Huge resonator inside the exhaust which is what cancels out the drone frequencies associated with side muffler bypass. So will be better than stock.

catless supersprint system on 996 gt3. Not sure how much it differs to the sound of the 3.8 - if anyone has vids, I’m sure my ears will be happy!

Have quite a few vids now. Uploaded one to Instagram (car pulling away), have a bunch of in car vids that I will post soon

My post above is SS catless headers with stock center muffler on a 7.2. Vids linked.

Yours sounds surprisingly similar to the 3.8, actually. The more time I spend with the system, the more unique the SS tone is. Very mechanical / metallic. As I mentioned, really reminds me of an S54 with rowdy exhaust.

Does anyone here have the M&M headers/exhaust system from FVD? How was the fitment of the headers?

I'm torn between the full FVD exhaust system (headers, 200 cell cats, center muffler) and the full Supersprint system. The FVD/M&M is much less $, which is a plus. Just wondering about the M&M headers fitment, as I'd prefer minimal install issues haha

I have the entire M&M system on my car.

M&M Long Tube headers traveling into 200 cell HJS cats, then though an x pipe, then to the side mufflers then out two long pipes to the atmosphere. Fitment is OEM quality to a tee. No issues whatsoever.

It was also a quiet system, signature flat 6 sounding which I loved until my son kept giving me a hard time the it was too quiet and all the other weekend warrior Porsches that blasted the Crest were way better sounding. Kids like loud even if it's crap loud. So I removed the side mufflers and sent them off to Gert, who did some surgery on them and sent them back to me. Now they are crazy loud when you step on it and still sound the same around town and on the highway. I don't know what he did but pleased with the results.

I also love Supersprint but honestly everything of their's is overpriced. Both systems comply with European noise requirements and I was looking to install a Supersprint system on my RS4 but just couldn't pay that kind of coin for it. Kudo's to those who have that disposable income to do it. I need value for my buck. One other thing to keep in mind is that M&M FVD Brombacher, whatever you want to call it, is Strictly Porsche!

Now trying to decide between the M&M side muffler system vs the M&M side delete/center muffler system….I assume benefit of having side mufflers, much less drone, and much less noise? Both seem to have long tube header design.

indeed. Side mufflers crush the drone. I’ve ran headers with side mufflers and center delete Zero drone.

Oem center does a good job of beating drone with valved side deletes which is what I have. But some center mufflers can drone a lot too.

I have a 6- Mk2 gt3 with a 7-gt3 mm side muffler kit. Great fit and sound. I used Ti bolts for the install. Be preparared to get the fvd tune when installing their exhaust. On my 996 motor it killed the mid range power but their tune was well worth the money as my car now pushes passed the cup wing drag.

Also linking a track vid as the mic is right above it on the lisense plate.

Anyone know if this FVD/M&M set up will be louder than stock headers mated to a Sharkwerks track exhaust? Or if it will drone?

that system is goi g to be incredibly loud with no option to make it quiet. I would hesitate to get it unless you’re looking for cup car loudness and possibly drone.

coming home from
the beach. Let
me get the go pro up and make a video. Will try to do it as soon as I land.
