how can you have long tube headers, cats and side mufflers all together? long tube headers usually take up the space of side mufflers.

onto my 3rd setup...
1. center bypass, all else stock: great sound. not loud. no drone.
2. side bypass, akrapovic center, stock headers: louder, lighter, but sound quality not as good as 1st set up.
3. supersprint long tube headers, 200 cell cats, akrapovic center: slightly louder than 2nd set up, but better sound. more power. very happy with this so far. supersprint are pioneers of the long tube header design iirc. great quality, fit and finish etc. from what i can see, it rivals dundon's headers.

I for one cannot. My headers even have cats, and I can't fit them properly to anything due to the length. So, my setup is the Cargraphics headers with a bastardized SW track rear section that we cut and welded.

Where'd you source the SS headers? I've looked around and can't find those offered anywhere. Any sound readings on that setup ?

I'm a bit of an exhaust nerd so I've tired 6 different exhaust setups now and i think i'm about ready for something new. My experiences below:

1. OEM + Soul center bypass- lovely sounds at idle and WOT. Personally hated the transition from valves closed to open (sport mode). Ran the valves forever open which was very loud on cold start and had some drone.

2. OEM headers, JCR Superlight Race Pipes (silenced)- Loud, high pitched and awesome. Slightly more drone than setup 1 but totally livable. In my opinion, perfect.

3. OEM headers, JCR Superlight Race Pipes (non-silenced) aka straight pipe- Shockingly not much more drone than setup 2. A bit louder and more rasp, i preferred the tone with the silencers.

4. GMG Equal Length Headers and 200 cel cats, stock side mufflers, GMG center bypass- Didn't love it for the same reasons as 1. Found the GMG CMB to not sound as nice as the Soul unit. Maybe due to the equal length headers and HFC? I can't put it into words but overall I wasn't a fan. Swapped out for setup 4 in a few days time.

5. GMG Equal Length headers and 200 cel cats and JCR Superlight Race Pipes (silenced)- Loud and insane. Sounds wild but pretty brutal on the street. Drone at cruising speeds is 100% livable but under throttle the cabin noise is LOUD. I am not bothered by it while windows down driving but the second you have someone in the car, the windows up, trying to drive like a normal car and maybe have a conversation you are reminded that you're in a race car. Whatever, this is the car for that.

6. GMG Equal Length headers and 200 cel cats, ti link pipes (lower only), Akra Evo center muffler- Cold start was loud and sounded great at idle. Tame at low RPM cruising but still loud on throttle. Great mid range noise. Very livable and could be even quieter with the use of the top portion of the muffler. Lost a bit of the GT3 howl but had a very unique burbly tone. This is very close to perfect for me but wanted a bit more mid range noise.

To be honest I don't think my ideal setup exists. Currently back to the JCR setup (4) but would love to take it back to the noise level of stock cats as in setup 2. i've been thinking of trying an OEM ti muffler along with side deletes that run both top and bottom ports of the muffler. Or a Dundon LOUD muffler. However, I think the setup below from IPE could be good with a manual valve controller but i don't like the tips. In conclusion, i am a thoroughbred loser. Wow.

I can’t speak to much, but I can say this RS came with GMG center and side deletes. It was pretty loud when I wanted it to be but it felt always on and always off and the note was not deep enough for me.

I went back to the setup I had on my last GT3 w/Dundon 2.0 headers and 991RS Ti center+tips w/fabspeed reinforcement… it’s not too loud and the sport button works as advertised.

I’ve never tried the Dundon Loud lifetime, mainly because when I want it quite, I want it quiet.

After inputs on this thread and offline discussions, I'm leaning towards sport or race headers (unsure of make yet - GMG, Fabspeed, FVD), valved side bypass (Soul, Fabspeed), and Akra center (to which I can add Dundon quiet tips).

Hoping that hits a sweet spot while allowing me to pass sound when needed.

You should check out the JCR silencer tips. They look perfect for sound limited days at the track.

I've messed around with a few set ups. Just jump to the end with @Jamie@dundonmotorsports street headers and loud muffler if you want the best sound and power. The Dundon loud muffler is great for those who want to also pass 103-105 db track days (looking at you CA folks) with a simple set of Nürburgring or Laguna tips. This is the big advantage over the megaphone style bypasses. If you want JUST sound and don't care about anything else then there are other alternatives in the market.

3 years on fabspeed headers with cat's, stock side mufflers and a center delete. Sounds like a rocket on throttle but completely manageable at cruising speeds and no drone. Also, was pretty pleased with the gains the headers made. It was definitely noticeable.
