Being that these cars are prone to these issues, here's something you can do for your GT car today-I posted it on the battery issue thread, but it's a good time of year to make sure yours is OK, no corrosion, and protected. My starter has been fine since 2019-don't replace it unless it's really the issue:

>>Regardless of which battery type or brand you have, consider cleaning and replacing cables-I posted my starter issue and there are other threads on the regular 997 forums as well. There is also a cable junction under the car that should be cleaned and/or tightened too-
I believe the negative battery cable was superseded by a better one(might apply to 997.1)
Also, the quick release positive pin connection to power distributor was later replaced by a threaded pin with washer and nut-I opted to clean mine and continue to prevent corrosion instead of replacing the quick connect pin.

Here's another thread with pics, cable connection under the car:
https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...ter-cable.html

And this detailed thread on the positive pin/power distributor options:
https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...esolved-4.html

Keeping all the battery and starter connections clean and replacing some of them and avoiding corrosion is good practice, and a good time of the year now since summer is practically over

Best,
JB

3 months after import, passed Swiss licensing inspections and I can now drive legally in Europe. I've missed the Ring, but some clear winter day blasts are on order.

To be honest I prefer it. Keeps things exciting and fresh. I drive the **** out of the car April to November and the other months I’m snowboarding and enjoying my off road vehicles. Come March I’m chomping at the bit to get the car out.

I probably need another hobby. I just like driving my cars too much to be away from them that long.
