Default Recommendations on 997.2 GT3RS maintenance while engine out

I'm in the process of purchasing a 2011 GT3RS from Doug at Switchcars. So far, Doug has been fantastic to work with. Came right out and discussed the deficiencies in the car and some of the things he would recommend doing to it. Closing on the car next week and we are sending it to Steinel's to do the following:

Pin coolant lines/Sharkwerks elbows
Upgrade to Guards Read Diff
New Sport Cup 2s
4.0L clutch and flywheel

Is there anything else you would do while it is apart? TIA

Replace all rubber hoses. Rubber deteriorates with age and it's only a matter of time until a hose fails. I saw it happen to a 2011 GT3 RS at WGI just recently. Also replace front and rear main seals.

In addition to the above, people often also recommend coolant expansion tank, and since yours is (will be) an RS, people also have the variocam bolts checked. Congrats on the car BTW...

This topic has been beaten to death. Quick search will find at least a dozen of these threads and one in the last few weeks too.

Haha. I was wondering how long it would take for someone to post "do a search and quit posting here". 1st, the search sucks on this website. Have to dig through way too much BS because you can't focus the search. 2nd, ideas and fixes change over time. 3rd, It's easier to ask the question.

I would recommend skipping the thread or not replying if you don't have something to add to the conversation.

Thanks to those who answered question. Very helpful. Looking forward to getting the car in the next few weeks.

The rotors on that car look like they've seen better days... I wouldn't worry too much about hoses, it's not a 20-30 year old car.

Rotors are serviceable but Doug did recommend to replace in the near future if I track it.

bs. This is 30 seconds of effort. And no. These cars haven’t changed. The lists are the same.

Search works fine. And yes you can focus ITBM just this forum, and limit the results. Or just use google and point it at rennlist.

Thanks for all the ideas guys. Wired the money today and hoping Steinel's can jump on this big list asap. If not, we might just ship it here to Phoenix and look for a shop here too. Any ideas on a good shop around here that does this kind of work (besides the dealers?)

Can anyone recommend a couple shops in the Chandler/Gilbert AZ area to work on my 997.2 GT3RS. Might end up shipping the car home and having someone local do it if Steinel's are too busy. Should find out tomorrow. Two names I have heard which are McIlvain and Stuttgart. Thoughts? Have a 993 as well that I would like them to work on, so looking for someone with broad Porsche experience. Thanks
