Btw, I too strongly prefer the black GTS bits. They make the car feel tougher and more special, IMO. Good luck!
I have the non-painted side skirts and front lip. No problems with the side skirts but the front lip needs a face lift now and then. A $1.50 can of flat black spray paint from Home Depot blends perfectly to my eyes.

the spray that is supposed to be used to refinish bare black abs type parts is SEM Bumper Coater, its very slightly flatter but it stays black and easy to touch up

Guys, save your money in the paint. Just get a can of plastic dip and spray them. It is cheap, easy to do, and will look OEM. If they ever peel or chip in the future, you can simply spray those areas to touch them up.

Just use regular black plastic dip. I blacked out my rear bumper valence and it's held up perfectly for 1.5 years and looks original.

If you're going to CHANGE color to black on your parts that came with the car, then I would recommend plasti-dip. That way you can keep your original parts in the same body-matching color in case you ever want to convert back. But I would recommend SEM trim black if you go with new parts.

This is the plasti-dip we're referring to:

The same product is about $9 at Home Depot.

Man, what a great forum. Such helpful people. Back in a Porsche after 10 years in M cars and I was on this board back in the day. Seem to remember the same level of care. Had an M4 for over a year and wanted to get back into a P-car. 991s did not do it for me, had a 997tt as last Porsche and wanted to go NA. So GTS it is.

Look forward to learning more about this special machine as time progresses. It just drives like no other comparable car. Visceral and raw compared to the M4. M4 might outperform but it can't touch the seat of the pants feeling of the GTS.

Good advice above. I already bought the replacemeant pieces so will probably do SEM myself. Folks say it is a easy DIY. Hope so. I plan on having the original trim repainted and will either store or reinstall at some point. Now I need to find a very good paint shop in the DE/Philly area. Any ideas?

Thanks again for the help.

Glad you're loving the GTS. Well, skip the paint shop and plasti dip your new side skirts. I guarantee it will look great and, if it chips, it will be easy to touch up.

Side skirts arrive at your door in black. Your advice is for him to paint them black. Again. Great advice.

$9 !!! Blasphemy!! Unless you have a Porsche approved body shop strip them and paint them for $400 then it is ghetto!!

And you will never be able to sell your car now cause its now been modified. And *gasp* modified with non P approved parts

Bump. I am interested as well.
Not instructions, but there may be helpful visual clues in the photos at the following links.

I feel I need to have spare clips (part #999 507 986 40) on hand before removing these "sill covers".
