@Doug H I thought the bore scoring was more of a factor on 997.1s. Is It an issue on 997.2s? A lot of the justifications I've read from folks about going .2 vs. .1 are IMs and bore scoring on the .1s (and maybe a more modern PCM and the DFFI engine). Haven't read anything about bore scoring on the 997.2s. In your experience, how likely an issue is it?

It was replaced at 35k miles (older previous owner that probably rode the clutch a bit too much). I guess "gearbox oil change" means it's a manual. I hope anybody with a 997 would say "PDK Service" otherwise. If it is, I think a base white 997.2 with 20K miles should bring mid forties, maybe $50K if it has all the desirable options and maintenance records. A fresh detail and a sunny day might get another $1000 or two from the right buyer.

I've seen a few articles lately about the 997.2 being the last, best water-cooled "driver's" 911 before the 991 made the 911 into a grand tourer. That aside, there are articles pointing to the base 997.2 manual as a great sports car to buy.

A VIN search can confirm PDK or manual.

Can happen on (A1s, just much, much less likely. Guys such as Bronz on here have had it. May not be scoring, but may be something serious or just a ton a of money needed to sort it out and get it up to date.

Sanity Check:

I am about to get into a 05 C2S 6 Speed "Launch Edition(Adaptive seats, PCCB, Bose Nav ect)". Car has 93k miles, black on black and all OEM with no modifications. I am able to score for 32k. I've budgeted for IMS, Clutch, Flywheel, Water pump, Thermostat and Suspension Refresh all from PPI. After all repairs I'll most likely be in it about 36-38k. Does this seem good for a 997 C2S 6 Speed?

I would get bores scoped and check the meat of the rotors as they are expensive. Search PCCB and see how much thickness is required. Good luck

Did your PPI properly check for bore scoring? If not, do not purchase without.

$39,000 seems like way too much to have into a 2005 with 93,000 miles. I would look for for an 07 or 08 for that price with 50,000 miles that was better taken care of and well sorted already. The liquidity and value of a 93k mile car will tank hard once you go over 100k miles.

I also would not purchase a lower priced car with 93,000 miles that has PCCBs. You could end up spending 1/3 to 1/2 the value of the car on just brakes then you have 100k mile car with $50,000 in it.

A buddy of mine has a silver 2007 with 44k miles on his lot now for $39k with steel brakes which are super cheap and east to replace.
