Has anyone been able to get 997.2 steering to work in a manual 08 and lower manual car ?
I have bot been able to clear airbag light and get horn to work. Is the newer airbag module still needed?

airbag light can be reset via durmetric pro/piwis, i believe in 'instrument cluster' module.
horn to activate you will need to turn on multifunction steering wheel ON, i believe in the gateway 'module' (also via durmetric pro/piwis)

This thread interests me.
My car came with a TechArt 997 Type 1 steering wheel, just like this one.
Aesthetically, I don't feel like it is anywhere as nice as other 997 tillers. I've never been crazy about the aesthetics of the multifunction wheel. it also doesn't match the interior, as it is a black wheel in a car with sea blue leather.
And while I like thick wheels rims, I feel like this one is too thick, even in my massive paws.
Getting a 997.2 wheel is sounding really good right now if my horn will still work!

it should work, with a little bit of programming - esp since your current wheel has multifunction enabled.

This thread has been helpful but I"m still a bit confused. I have a 2007 GT3 (w/ non MF alcantara wheel) and have acquired a 2010 GT3 gen 2 wheel and airbag. I'm ready to make the switch w/o the module with instructions to my tech to program it like it has the MF wheel. Will I be good or should I source a new module to be safe? Thanks
