Fidelity Platinum @ 6years/60k miles @ $6k & $250 Ded.
Price seems fair. I am planning to keep the vehicle for 5-6-7 years. Anticipate driving no more than 5k-6k per year.
Initial reaction is that $6k in repairs over the next 6 years is possible. Thoughts?

My platinum quotes from Fidelity were quite high for a higher mileage car and started looking around for other options. Find significantly lower cost options from other providers out there which are ranked highly according to https://www.consumersadvocate.org/.
If you're not stuck on Fidelity, might be worth taking a few calls and getting some quotes from them.
Hello...is it worth purchasing the Platinum Protection package which I was told covers tires & wheel, dent protection and key fobs? Cost $3200? Since 911 tends to suffer dings from rock chips, its probably worth it? If that is the case, is Porsche the authorized repair shop?
Figure it won't hurt that my first post is a contribution. In the market for a 997 or a 981, so priced out Fidelity Platinum warranties on two 997's that I've been looking at and are in my budget -- a 997.1 C4 and a 997.2 C4. As previously discussed, mileage seems to have a much bigger factor on price than model year. In fact, the 5yr/60k option was available for the 2008 with lower mileage, but the longest term available for the 2009 with slightly higher mileage was 4yr/48K. Here's the pricing in a table:
Look at the prices on the 997.2 jump as you go from 36K to 48K coverage! It costs a pretty penny for Platinum coverage beyond 100K on a 997. Currently not comfortable getting into a mid-higher mileage 997 without a warranty, and with these prices, looks like I'm going to have a tough time with car + warranty within my budget ($40K). So, current plan: CPO 981 Base 2.7, then when my budget allows in a few years, roll that into a 997 and get to have both experiences!
Why is a 997.1 so much cheaper to warranty? I see mileage but that's not a huge diff in mileage. Can you do the same comparison with same year cars and see if mileage effects it the same way?
So is an older, higher mileage car a total non-starter or completely not worth it? 2007 Targa 4S with 79k miles.
Mainly just concerned about covering anything catastrophic like bore scoring or IMS.
I've gotten quotes from several other providers (Delta, Liberty Bell, Infinite) where the prices are much more reasonable (can find $2-3K for a 5yr plan). However, don't know whether the experience of making a claim is good but at least they appear to have decent online ratings.
Got a quote from Liberty Bell for $3k for 3yr/30k, $4k for 5yr/50k (this for my fairly old / high mileage Targa). Covers everything except maintenance. Seems legit - but I need to research the company more and compare against other quotes.
No experience with Liberty Bell, other than a call for quotes. Ask for a better rate, they started with me at $2,900/$3,500/$4,100 for 3/4/5 years with $100 deductible on an 09 C4s with 80k miles on the top tier plan. Pushed for better rate and then went to: $2,300/$2,800/$3,300 with $0 deductible and free rim and tire. Again, no idea if they are any good, but if you are considering, you can negotiate down.

I’m sure they’d do everything to avoid, it’s in their best interest. But a clear engine failure like that can’t be just passed off.
My concern with these plans is that they have the right to inspect your vehicle and look for anything that they want to disallow the repairs. Could be mods or it could be maintenance record.

Granted, this is for extended warranties but are probably very similar to the vehicle service plans.
Just can't tell if the low satisfaction is because of these plans denying claims / making it so difficult to get approved, it's the same or if that is the nature of insurance where many pay for what a few need. If it'st he latter, I'd be fine with it.

I'm in the same boat. My car needed a full rebuild. Best bet I ever made.
What coverage did you have? I'm trying to figure out if I need the full platinum coverage (which is EXPENSIVE) or can get by with the just powertrain warranty. I can cover all the "little" stuff - it would be the catastrophic that requires a rebuild that I'd be worried about.
