Hello, my name is Julian. I have a 2007 Cayman 987 manual and since December, I had it without the battery for a change of the starter motor, the date has also disappeared and change 2000. In Spain, I do not know any case. It's strange. If you know how to fix it I would be grateful. Regards
My SA said his foreman says its a faulty radio or instrument panel and would need me to bring my car in.
I have a Durametric and one of the first things I did was to check for any faults and there were none to be found. Has anyone else gotten anywhere with this?
Hi, I went to the Porsche center yesterday. I put the computer and there was no fault, the date of the PCM was at 2065 but that date can not be changed

So it sounds like bringing it to the dealership is just a waste of time. Does anyone know what the best contact point is for Porsche directly since this isn't an isolated issue...
I have heard on the radio, that it is necessary to update the GPS before April 6, 2019, to show the correct date (if it will not start to mark year 1980). The previous ones to 2010 have the capacity to work for 1024 weeks, 20 years since 1999, the date on which the first reset since 1980 began, which is when it begins to count. https://www.lavanguardia.com/tecnolo...ecto-2019.html
The really odd thing about this is it seems to be random as to who is affected. I had a fellow owner of a 05 C2S turn his on and it displayed the correct date.
It will be interesting on 4/6/2019 to see what the date does in the car with the GPS rollover.
I have a 2008 C2S and I noticed a few days ago that the date read 12/25/2018 ( it has been sleeping all winter). I tried to change the date until I caught up with this thread. The nav has been working fine, however. I did the 1-4-8 reboot and now the date display is blank. If that is all that happens I am OK with that. My car doesn't have blue tooth and I am OK with as well. I don't talk on the phone in my 911 or need the car to tell me what the date is, I just drive......
A bunch of folks on the Cayenne forum (and other car forums) have reported that there was some sort of software update that occurred in the past several months on the GPS satellites - - something like a Y2K fix. As I understand it, the date code in the satellites was reset/rolled back as the GPS satellites could not continue to count up. Read this: https://blog.fosketts.net/2019/04/06...e-almost-done/
Unfortunately, this story seems to apply to PCM 2.1 equipped Porsches, as the date on my 07 TT showed Feb 12, 2000 this morning. I was unable to find a way to change it - - appears set by GPS.
Let us know if you find a fix. I'm not optimistic...
I contacted Becker Service that builds the PCM's and discussed with them the issue with the incorrect/missing date. It is something they have seen on occasion and may be related to two possible issues.
CANBUS communication issue with the Porsche Instrument cluster - This would need to be checked by using something like a Durametric or other code reader and verifying no codes are present. Clear/Fix any error codes and see if the date returns. If no errors then see next.
Corruption with the PCM software - They state the PCM is very sensitive to voltage spikes, low power, battery change etc especially as the units start to get older. Generally can be fixed by sending the unit in for repair.
They told me a bench test is $75 and if nothing else is wrong other than the date the repair fee would be "reasonably less" than the usual $500-$750.
I was thinking of getting a Durametric or Foxwell unit anyway and now I have a reason. I did have a random Amplifier/Navigation system not present warning message a while back. I disconnected battery, checked all connections and upon powering up the car the error was gone but days later the date issue started.
