Setting the date?

Unfortunatelly it didn´t work out! 
When I left my garage and the GPS connected the date went back to 2005!
So I did the same proccess again, but this time I Ieft the GPS cable disconnected to avoid the date going backwards.
I will lose the GPS system, which is obsolete anyway, but the date will be kept updated
I´d rather use my mobile anyway for directions.
