Glad it worked out for you.
The zip ties blend in and are no problem (YMMV) and no, I don't know of another nondestructive ay to attach.

For those who dont use these protective grills, is there any standard service (eg 20 K miles) from the dealer where they clear these out, alternatively for what kind of procedures is the front bumper taken off, so that the grill can be cleaned at the same time. thank you.

I am in the process of doing this project today. I have made a template and scanned it into a PDF.
Process is very simple once the template is made and should take no more than an hour without bumper removal. I just can't figure out how to attach a PDF file into the posting. If you want a copy of the PDF template send a message to me with your email and I can email it to you

Pics of my home Depot DIY. Essentially the same as the original poster but made with locally available materials and I didn't put in the rubber edging, didn't think it was necessary since there wasn't any painted surface to protect, only the back of the cowl had any contact with the mesh.
I am happy with the result and now my radiators are protected. Overall cost was just about $9 for the mesh piece, a can of black Plasti Dip, and a small bag of zip ties. YouTube video coming shortly. As a newbie on this forum I am very grateful for all the DIY posts out there, I have taken advantage already of the oil change, and brake fluid flush. I wasn't ready to tackle taking the front bumper just yet so decided to go this route. Enjoy.

Ok, I so I have an '06 C4S, and I want to get radiator grilles, but i'm not a fan of the DIY options. I'm looking to buy a kit, but really having a hard time deciding on which one. What does everyone think?
http://www.mina-gallery.com/model-pa...le-carrera.htm
this looks like it covers the front slats, and isn't really the look i'm going for
http://www.rennline.com/Front-Bumper...9.93.95/BLACK/
this is the look i'm going for, but the install video basically shows installation being done after removing the bumper, not ideal. also looks like I need to replace the center section since my rad is not showing

This one is the most expensive, but also appears that you glue it in? also not ideal.
am I missing something here, is there a simpler solution, in he form of an easy kit? Outside of DIY, are these the options?

Don't the Zunsport cover the front slats? That was the impression I got looking at your pictures.

The Zunsport also appears to require drilling in places that become visible if removed. Is this the case? I'm always considering impact to resale since I like to flip every 2-3 years. I'd also prefer a behind-the-slats approach as well.
Thanks for the time and effort on the video Cbst09! Nicely done.

I coincided the screen installation with the install of my Escort 9500ci which saved removing the front bumper twice.
It is unnecessary to install the middle screen if not desired.

I DIY'd the three grilles on Saturday with some black powder coated gutter screen. Took about 3 hours start to finish. You spend more time removing/replacing the bumper cover than anything else, but it is not a difficult job.
My p-car had 55k miles with no screens and no damage to the radiators, but it only takes one strategically located stone to ruin your day.

actually, the zunnsport grilles don't cover the slats on a 997.1, check out the link I attached earlier. 997.2, they do. since I have a 997.1, zunnport is the front runner for me.
