I'm not a huge fan of aftermarket tint film.
That being said my daughters used BMW 4dr 3 series came with windows tinted all the way around (except windshield ) she wanted the tint removed form drivers & passenger front doors and it looks pretty good.
I was actually thinking about tinting my rear window and small side windows on my black 993
I didn't know there was so much negative feeling toward tints. Here in my state tint is almost mandatory. You rarely see any high line cars without tint, in fact must of the dealers have tint guys on contract because many want to to take delivery of a car with tints, or its the first thing they want to do after delivery.
I like tint, it gives you some privacy, and also I like the look. I think 35% is just right. Btw, I don't get the escalade reference.
I like the tint for the protection it provides the interior from the harmful UV rays. Neither leather nor carpet likes sunlight for prolonged periods of time, and I think with a good quality film it can be tastefully done. I've been thinking about having mine done - as all my other cars have it and I'm used to it.
I had 20% and I removed it from the sides and left the rear. I think the lines of the car are more visible especially on a black car without it, or to the degree mine were tinted. I'll likely try 35% given the intense sun here.
Not a fan of tint - especially on a 911 - for various reasons, including the fact that, most notably on a dark car, you lose the lines created by the greenhouse.
my tint cools the car in 108 degree summer days by 20 percent. Irrespective of how I feel about the look, I wouldn't trade it. the second reason for my having it is anonymity, something I prefer while driving the thing around town.
