Default Things I'd like to see on Porsche

1. Auto on Headlights, (at dusk), this can't be a very expensive mod to do from new...even some of the the inexpensive cars have it.
2. A mod to the auto transmission that keeps it from moving when stopped,
so you don't have to hold the brake
3. Simplify the damn Audio controls..what a mess.., in fact an upgrade on the terrible sounding audio (We have the Bose!)
4. How about an audio system that doesn't need a $$$$ adaption to add Sirius
(my 06 X5 was a $200 PLUG AND PLAY!)
Thats all i can think of right now...there must be more

As to #1, I thought that PAG finally entered the 1990's with the 991 by incorporating auto On/Off headlights.

I don't agree with the auto headlights at all. How hard can it be for an individual to be responsible to turn on their own headlights?

This weekend on a trek north we had very heavy rains in California and still (despite a nearly two year old law) people are driving in the rain without their headlights on. A few with DRL seem to think that they will substitute for headlights. (The rears do not come on). So here you are, driving along in heavy rain and the characters in front of you don't have their lights on for you to see them.

These automated things do not substitute for common sense.

How about keyless entry and push button start. That was the one option on my BMW that I could have cared less about when we bought the car, and now I can't live without it. I really like keeping the key in my pocket and locking/unlocking the door by touch.

I'd like to see me on the driver's seat of a GT3 RS 4.0!

With regard to #1 and #2:

Auto headlights already used in the Cayenne, Panamera, and 991. My Cayenne has it as does my wife's Audi A3. I agree, a nice convenience feature, although common sense when using the headlights is still appropriate.

I disagree on #2. Foot should always be on the brake when stopped in gear at an intersection or anywhere for that matter, whether in an auto or manual. I don't think Porsche should encourage otherwise by designing a "no-creep" auto.

Personal preference, I guess. My wife had no key entry and push button start on her departed Highlander Hybrid. I didn't like it.

How about a simple electronic message, when starting the car, that Porsche has checked the oil levels and found that oil level is satisfactory....or not.

I'm sure the computer could work out this simple task without forcing us to sit there twiddling our thumbs while we wait the 5 minutes needed.
Or better yet...give us back our dipsticks.

This is a sports car, not a boulevard cruiser. It requires an attentive driver, who must be perfectly capable of deciding when to turn the headlights on.

Put in P while stopped (even though i do not recommend it).

Get any model after MY09.

Get MY09 (or newer) with the iPod/USB/Aux ports.

Just curious as to what changes were made between the '09 and '10 audio controls. The audio controls in my '11 Cayenne S with Bose are very similar to my '09 Carrera S with Bose. What did Porsche do that was substantially different for the '10 Carrera models?

I meant MY09 forward (including '09 of course) (corrected above).

You ARE the PERFECT customer for 991! I guess Porsche did their homework right.

I'd like a folding "switchblade" key of the sort provided with VWs and Audis. (I even got one -- huge but folding -- with the Cayenne that I was given as a loaner so there shouldn't be any not-invented-here issues.)
