ROTtec Front LEDs Installed

I installed my Rotec fronts last night & I got the error today. I'm having the same experience as Edgy - the lights work as expected in all light positions. I also installed the Dectane rear lights. I am also getting the red exclamation point--but no narrative code--and then the exclamation point will disappear/reappear on its own. I tried turning the lights on in several different orders to see if there was something triggering the error such as only when you turn on the fogs but there doesn't seem to be any correlation.
The lights loook fantastic! Hopefully there is a fix. Here is a pic of the error message:

this pic is the fix thats going out, but its my understanding that its only going out to those who ray knows have the problem. He isnt sending them out to everyone that bought the lights. so I think you better let him know.. As for the rest of us, the guys who have not installed them or have not driven the car because of winter storage or whatever.. we dont get the fix untill we let ray know. i may be wrong but thats what i understand it from this thread.

Early 05 and 07 cars?
I don't get that.
Edgy's car is an 06 right. I wish the weather wasn't crappy this week in Colorado or i'd take mine out and drive it more to see if I throw a code.
I don't understand why every car wouldn't need this or at least benefit from it.

Because it costs money to order these and send them out to everyone who ordered the DRL. Since not everyone has the problem, it's cheaper to send to only the ones that have the problem. It's strictly business; although I see your point. The Dectane LED Tail lights are good examples of what you're thinking. All their kits have the extra resistors included.
Also, it's early 05-07 cars, I believe, but one of the 6speed members has an 08 car that is affected. So, that statement is not correct either.

Nah, you won't be "SOL", I'm sure Ray will stand behind his words and will take care of you in the Spring if your LED's goes haywire.

Additional data points for all.
Returning from Sacramento yesterday I ran my running lights and the "fogs" to attempt to trigger the error.
After about 35 minutes the "Check front right side light" warning came on for a very brief time. As before, the light didn't flicker or fail--it's simply the voltage resistance delta that is triggering the warning system to put up a warning. During my 400 mile trek that narrative warning occurred only one more time. The majority of the errors that it triggered manifested themselves as just the red warning exclamation point--that also would self clear in a few seconds.
Love the look of them. They perform quite well. It's what Porsche AG SHOULD have done in 2008 if they weren't so money hungry.

Thanks for the update. I hope you've already contacted Ray to get the "Resistor" fix. Despite their shortcomings, they're quite beautiful when lit.

your right about porsche being money hungry. Leds are not new by any means. It's amazing a company that charges over 100K for their cars cant toss in some leds back in 07 or 08.
and your right, I also think Ray will stand behind his product even if its not tuill spring.

I'm not worried about Ray and ROTtec. They are first rate with their engineering and stand behind their products. That's another reason why I chose them for my fronts, after doing the rear lights earlier this year.
