I drove up to Sacramento today and decided to give them a workout. I ran my 997.1 car with DRL on, and found after about 100 miles that I got several "check front right light" warnings. I attempted to troubleshoot things as I drove. First, I turned off the DRL function when on a break and then selectively turned things on at dusk. I started with the running lights and the 'fogs' on (no headlights) so that I could see if they were working when I trailed a nice reflecting vehicle. Despite the occasional warnings the lights never faltered--the running lights, the fogs, nor turns. So, it is apparent that something in the voltage department is generating enough of a voltage issue to throw a code. Temp was around 50ºF and elevation 0-800 ft. Clear, no rain (moisture). I am pleased that they appear to work well, but the occasional code alert can become a pain and a distraction. Sometimes I found that I would get a red exclamation point--but no narrative code--and then the exclamation point will disappear on its own.

Those of us with these need to help Ray troubleshoot this. Hopefully the fix is simple.

Thanks Dan. That is good information to know.
Seems like a lot of people are having these issues. I can't help but wonder if the people that aren't having these issues have driven their cars for any distance. I plan on installing mine today and will report back.

The white plug is 12v and 0.2Watt ~ does anyone know if this is the correct wattage that is suppose to be running thru?

Has anyone heard from someone with the DECTAIN lights to see if they are the exact same lights

Can anyone that knows someone with the DECTAIN lights please ask them what the wattage running thru the white plug is?

Ray said he is doing some testing this weekend im sure he will chime in soon with a fix or some solution. (I hope)

Dan,

I installed mine and in the last two days have driven about 80 miles. So far I haven't thrown any errors yet. I've been driving with the fogs on just to see if there were any problems. Still all clear.

It's not easy to capture this in a photograph, but I must say that in person the OEM bulbs look quite yellow in comparison to the LEDs.

Ray's partner has a very nice GT3 that is the test mule for all of ROTtecs products. I was able to do a side-by-side comparison to the test GT3 with the new bulbs (pictured here) and my car - and my OEM lights looked very yellow in comparison to the LEDs, particularly with the new bulbs right beside my car.

In the end I decided to go with ROTtec LEDs, headlight bulbs, side marker bulbs and license plate bulbs.

Ray also offers color matching interior, engine compartment and trunk bulbs - but that's a bit over-the-top for me.
can't see a diff

Same here.
Installed them last night and drove all over the place today with the fogs on. No codes yet. Really like the look of these lights.

i think its time we make a poll to see how many people have errors, how many have no probs

how many people are having lights going on and off.

How many are scared they will burn down the car and so on..

We probably should have a poll, but it would have to be on 6speed. I don't think enough people on Rennlist bought them.

What I can say is the look of them is fantastic. The look very cool.

Then i'll be pissed. :-)
Sounds like Ray is standing behind his product and sending people replacements. I wonder how many of those he can actually do though. I like these lights and want to keep them. I hope things continue to work for many of us.

I read on the other forums that you will need to use two cards doubled up,to remove the aftermarket lights.

Hope that helps.

I'll search for the posts
