ROTtec Front LEDs Installed

Burning Brakes
I received my Rottec DRLs yesterday. I'm very pleased with the lights. As promised, here are some pics of the install. Basically, to remove them all you do is insert the card tool as per the owner's manual. Push in once and pull out the assembly a bit, then push in again and it will release. Pull it out and disconnect as per the manual. The only trick is that the fog light bulb and connector need to be removed from the original housing after the wiring has been disconnected. Then you re-use the black connector that the little blue bulb was in. It really couldn't be easier.

I heard a few people say they didnt work, then they swaped the sockets around and it worked. Im still waiting. I think its just a busy time a year. I am suprised most of you recieved yours so fast.

Yea--I thought about it and realizing we're talking diodes, I thought about polarization and reversed the poles on the running or parking lights. All is well. Very neat kit.
I also installed the bluer Bi-Xenon bulbs. The advantage I think is that they make the blueness of the lower LEDs less a distraction. (The factory OEM bulbs are very much color neutral--white light). Now, at least I have a spare set of Bi-Xenon bulbs in my travel kit!
This is a very inexpensive way to update a 997.1 -- it goes to show that Porsche could very easily have fit the LED lights into the existing spaces (front and rear) but chose to do a "facelift" without spending a whole hill of beans on it.

Mine arrived Friday as well. My Dectane rears finally landed in the US so I hope they arrive sometime this week and I plan to install everything this weekend.

Any comparison to the OEM 997.2 look? They seem to look different at first glance.
