You are too kind. Not many appreciate the value of VMI. It's a love / hate thing for most.

As for the lettering, I used some painters tape so I could mark on the decklid, a tape measure to find center and an envelope with pre-marked measures of distance from the bottom of the decklid and distance between letters. This allowed me to follow the curvature of the decklid to align the P O R S C H E. The rest is all about a calibrated eyeball.

SWO,

Thanks for the tips on the letter placement on the rear decklid. I think I am going to just replace the "S" with a red one.

VMI is a great college in a beautiful location. Whenever there I enjoy spending time in the George C. Marshall Library.

I won't comment on your apparent Navy affiliation...Semper Fi.

Thanks again.

Rolled over 30,000 miles on the odometer. Does this mean the car is worthless now

New member, enjoying info! New owner of 997.2, after reading a lot of opinions, I ordered Sharkwerks mid muffler delete. I was going to go with BB system but there seems to be fittment issues( 1/2-3/4 shortfall on length of pipe) Alex couldn't have been more helpful and gave me a generous discount for Rennlist member! Sometimes cost shouldn't be the only criteria( otherwise we would be driving economy imports ) I look forward to dealing with a customer friendly business who are there to answer my sometimes uninformed questions! Thnx!!

Sorry guys, my written English is not the best. The sale was on the engine mounts. Here is the info on both. I've bought several items on autohausaz a number of times over the years. They happen to have free shipping on both the rotors and mounts.

Rotors - ATE coated $86.00 each.
Engine Mounts - Corteco $120.00 each.

I know many would not buy Corteco. The ones I got are an identical match to what is on my car, just no Porsche part number stamped.

For $412.00 and my free labor I figure I saved enough to get the Gundo hack, now i just need to find someone that will return my call to do it!
