I took mine to a sub-optimal detail place and got it back in worse shape than I brought it. That'll teach me to try to save money.

Calling a real professional tomorrow to make an appointment to get it done right.

Two days ago, washed and polished/sealed with Klasse All-in-One using my Porter Cable 7424. Results:

Today, removed the engine air filter housing and verified that the filter does indeed need changing. Ordered new engine air filter, cabin air filter, and 6 spark plugs (for future fun times) from pelican parts.

in florida it's all hot air.. LOL.... i'll leave it up to the GT2RS intercoolers to cool it down a smidgen...

i'm also adding 42lbs to the *** end tomorrow in the form of new mufflers.... everyone tries to save weight and spend money to get "only" cold air, the car is too damn fast so i add lbs... LOL

How does it sound? I've yet to hear a turbo with an exhaust note matching its performance. Which is a good thing since it lessens the temptation to buy something I really don't need.

straight pipes were mean and sexy but drone

fabspeed mufflers are loud up top but no growl down low.

i think i need a x pipe catless setup... i'll be researching setups here soon..... maybe 200 cell cats with just x pipe center, i think sharkwerks cross pipes would be ideal but i need a 90* off my 200 cell cats so they mate up..

i'll figure it out soon, its just as fast now but silent.. which is really really scary..

That's how I always felt driving a TT. Careening down the road at ridiculous acceleration with barely a whisper from the tailpipes feels different. Me, I want more feedback from the engine. Not screaming loud but just the right bark down low that turns into wail past 5K. Pretty much what the Tubi does on my 4S. Please keep posting as you work towards the right formula.

I installed a short-shifter (997 OEM) over the weekend. I had one in my (former) 996 and had forgotten how satisfying this shifter is! Slick, not notchy and increases the enjoyment of shifting immeasurably. This mod, along with the Gundo are, arguably, the best mods for the buck for these cars. Love it!

If I had to do again, I'd get the Bilstein PSS 9 or 10 Coil Overs. Perfect for a 1" drop. Will make your car look so much better and great handling. For a less expensive solution, go with what I did - H&R springs. Nice look, but ugh that extra .2", rough on the underside of the front bumper.
