John we should look for it on the web. It was so over the top it WAS funny. I guess some of those dreamer-lurkers that hang out here didnt think the same.

Typically 911 guys (excepting some TT guys) dont hang out at the drag strip. They usually ditch
that with the mullet.
It was the commercial that was over the top. I dont think there was a shred of truth to it.
Never had a mullet...not everyone who likes to hit the dragstrip is a knuckle dragger, mouth breather with a mullet.

Going to a drag strip is a lot cheaper than going to a road course and hetting it all hang out (love that too).

Including the new GT with its F-150 motor. Unless youre talking about your trailer park drag strip?
I love it, F-150 motor -that's good.

No it's not a Ford GT. I've got an 08 Shelby GT500 with that same F-150 motor. It's been upgraded with the Ford Racing supercharger for 675 hp and a Griggs GR40 suspension, hate to break it to ya but these Fords will take you out!

but what we are supposed to be PC in our own freaking forum? Maybe you would feel more PC in a Toyota Prius forum?

Dave I was still in humor mode. Going to the drag strip with a 911 gets VERY expensive even if you have launch mode like the 997.2. I wont use it ever. Its not what these cars are for. We did do that at high school however with 68 Chevy pick ups. This C2S is faster off the line than my 993 TT and my 996 GT3 but I will still let grandma beat me off the line at Wal Mart in her Taurus *S*E*
Its faster off the line than ANY Ford SHO. AND most Mustangs. Girls just arent very fast off the line.

Para I hate to break it to you but you lose at every track I can think of. Buttonwillow, Willow Springs
Laguna Seca. Does your car turn? Are you a girl? I have never seen a guy drive a modern mustang.
Of course your brakes would burn up on turn 3.

You wouldnt even beat a stock 911 at a NASCAR track, unless they took out the turns.

I am still in humor mode.

Obviously, owning a Porsche (which by the way is a MASS PRODUCED car and FAR from an exotic. But I'm sure you think it is) does not necessarily come with class.

The guy in the Lambo and Ferrari thinks the same thing about our Porsche that you do about the Ford. My former Z06 got far more head turns/thumbs up than my 997S and would wipe your 997.2's *** in any performance category.

My point is this ---- get over yourself and your own self importance. Just because we own Porsches doesn't make us anything special. In actuality, it's attitudes like yours that is the basis for Porsche owners having the reputation they have.

Para You are RIGHT on that one!!! NO way do I want a mustang in my garage!!

Gotta admit if I went to a NASCAR race I wouldn't mind having you drive me in your shelby. Even the name is a girl. Shelby.

BTW my Manthey 996 GT3 would take out the Shelby on the track assuming your brakes didnt burn up on turn 3.
Still in humor mode.
I assume you wouldnt trade your shelby on a SHO taurus.
I am glad you love your shelby though. I wouldnt spend that money on that stuff when you could have been spending money on a real track car. If you sell your shelby (to that guy in the SHO commercial) and your 95 911 you could buy a 996 GT3 and have a REAL track car!!!

Just watch your six on that Laguna Seca corkscrew, the Griggs Shelby's and Ford GT's are tearing the 911 Turbos up!

Dude I dont need to get over my self in my forum PERIOD. PLUS you're wrong on SO MANY LEVELS.
You need to get over coming in here and making a fool of yourself. I could have had a Lambo or a Ferrari, but they arent as good as a 911. PERIOD. More expensive but not better, ever seen one with any milage? NO! they get rid of them before the warranty goes away, Pretty damn SMART. Ever seen one at the track NO! Because of your remarks its obvious you havent BEEN to the track .I have had two GT3s and both were better than even a Stradale. When the 997.1 GT3s came out they were going for MORE than what I could get a Lambo or a 430 at that time. And the GT3 was STILL worth it.
I have driven the Z06 in the C5 and C6 editions and that shows alot about what you know. BOTH pieces of CRAP. The 09 was terrible, its a boat and neither C5 or C6 could hold a candle to a GT3. I destroyed the C5 Z06 with my Manthey 996 GT3 and I never saw a C6 Z06 on the track. It WAS better than the C5 though not as many rattles and crap falling off. But it wasn't even worth the 30 thousand OFF the MSRP they were asking. AND YOUR WRONG a Z06 wouldn't rip a 997.2 C2S PDK. Its obvious not only do you not know what your'e talking about you haven't driven one. Its one thing to have people think you dont know what your'e saying but its another to remove all doubt. You could be right about getting more thumbs up though if you live in a trailer park. Of course that shows alot that you take offense to a stupid Ford commercial. Maybe you should get a Taurus.

Para The TT wouldn't be my weapon of choice at Leguna Seca. The GT3 would. Maybe thats why you see the Shelby's are winning- your'e are watching in the wrong class.
