Default What don't or didn't you like about the 997/S?

Not trying to be an ******* but just wondering what other guys don't or didn't really like about the 997/S.

I'm VERY happy that I have an S on order, don't get me wrong. I'm just killing time waiting for it by hanging out on this board and making up stupid topics.

My dislikes were/are the 19s (lousy roads around here) and the fake quads still bug me a little.

From what I am reading, I dont like the fact that you can't turn on/off PSE independent from Sport Chrono on/off.

Aside from a couple of teething problems there isn't anything really. It's got it all

the lofty price is something that's hard to swallow.

thin handbrake (before upgrade to CF or alum)

not getting a free hardtop on cab

easy to chip paint on wheels

Sometimes, the buttons are too small and numerous in the console, making them difficult to use while driving.

I honestly can find very little to complain about.

The visors are too small for the lower seating. The stereo will not turn off leaving the computer on.

I don't care for the passenger side window not having express up/down.

How often do you ride on that side?
Driver's side control expresses the passenger side up/down nicely....

There is a squeak coming from the passenger side rear area. Sounds like rubber or plastic rubbing against each other. I tried for months trying to locate the sourse without success. Otherwise, the car is rock solid. Anyone have similar squeaks?

As 997S X PO already pointed out... the clock is slow. Every week I have to add 4 minutes to the to the damn thing and I'm fed up. A slow clock just ruins the whole experience.

Oh, and I don't like the fact that I can't get the white "PORSCHE" screen to stay on the PCM screen at all times. That screen makes me feel like my car is on TV.

The Carrera S wheel.... I didn't care for them initially because they look too busy and would be a PIA to clean, then they started to grow on me and I almost changed my order to keep them when someone here called them the "Lobster Wheel" and that's all I see now when I look at them. They've actually morphed on me since, and now they look more like a "Crab Wheel" with the center resembling the round body of a crab and adjacent spokes as the outstretched arms with open pincers ready to attack... Tell me you don't see this... Anyway, that ruined the wheel for me.

The useless speedometer. I want an analog clock. The headliner should come in a brighter color (at least on my black interior). I hate the plastic door pulls. Lack of a spare. Fake front air intake. Price. Stigma of being an arrogant Porsche owner.

You're pulling our (collective) legs, right Johnny? (Not sure that came out right.) Are you saying the clock loses 4 minutes a week? Sheesh, not even the cheapest watch anywhere is that bad! Yeah, that IS bad... I wonder if there are adjustments to correct it.
