Default The best fitment/offset for 997 C4S 19" Wheels

Hi All

this is my first post and I am sure this has been covered before but I cant find exactly the right info that I am looking for. I am buying new wheels and as I understand its fairly common to add 8mm spacers to the front and 15mm spacers to the rears on the normal setup to get a nice flush look from the wheels to the bodywork. With this in mind and considering the ET for the fronts is 57 and the rear is 51 should I go for ET 49 front and 36 rear to achieve the same thing?

These are the wheels I am hoping to get

I just have a standard C4S, not a mega wide body kit like this 993 but I just like the wheels

Also if anyone has really nailed that "flush" look I would appreciate any info if you have gone for 9" and 12" wide wheels and what offsets you have chosen.

Thanks in advance!

Try searching…there are loads of threads about fitment for our cars.

Here is one on the front page that has 12” rears on a C4S.

Here is another reference: https://support.apexraceparts.com/hc...-Fitment-Guide

My .1 C4S also came with ET 57 front and 51 rear (on OEM Sport Design wheels). Installed 15mm front and rear spacers and both are flush to the body (at least the way I like it). Also have B16 coil overs on lowest setting, and have not rubbed the fenders at all even on bumps or potholes.

Those are 11.5” wide out back, right?

That is def a safe OEM fitment which is why you could add 15MM spacers.

On a 12” wheel you have to go with less on the spacer side at et51 12” wide.

Willtheyfit.com is a good resource.

I have done a ton of research and a lot of test fitments (I have about 10 sets of spacers lol) and the best fitment I found is 19x9 +42 and 19x12 +42. See pics of my car below.

As I'm sure you know, my GTS has the same body as your C4S. My after market Forgeline wheels are 9" up front and 12" for the rears. Offsets are 50 for the fronts and 46 for the rears. If I got another set I would leave the 50 offset alone for the fronts but would probably bring the rears out another 2-3mm. All said though, big improvement over the stock offsets. Picture attached with my current offsets before lowering from Eibach to H&R springs. Should give you a decent reference.

Thanks , your car looks great! so I take it those works wheels are using that spec and no spacers? that looks like just the right fitment I want. how does it ride? I have read that some people find the front end a bit twitchy over 100mph with an offset like that on the front.

Yes I see what you mean the front looks nice and flush but you could maybe pop the rears out a bit. It looks great though! And thanks for the help . I guess the rears would be an offset of nearer 43 then ?

I recently went down the same path. 2010 C4S cab. I went with an HRE 19x8.5 front (35 offset) and 19x11 rear (50 offset). Lowered on Bilstein coil overs.

Yeah....I think that's about right and that's probably what I would order if I bought a new set. But I'm kind of nitpicking here and the picture I posted isn't the best representation. The factory offset on the GTS is let's call it "conservative". Like they allowed for snow chains . And the difference between the factory 51 for the rears and the 46 I have makes a big difference. Doesn't sound like much....nor does popping them out another 2-3mm but it's amazing what these small adjustments do visually when looking at the car rather than looking at a picture.

But to sum it up, I think you're spot on with 43 for the rears for a car lowered 1.25".

If I didnt already love my current wheels I'd buy these. Probably not many like this around and looks great on a 997.

No spacers. Rides perfect and normal. I dont experience any twitchyness.
