Hi mate love the head unit, just confirming that the **** and buttons work and are not there just for show, Is the left *** on/off and volume like the original. and the MOST adapter is that from the same supplier?

Once again browsing Rennlist pays off! I’m finishing up a full pcm 3.0 upgrade - ended up going with the Nm auto CarPlay box, adding backup camera as well. I was struggling with the look of mounting the microphone somewhere that didn’t look bad. Want it to be as stealthy as possible. I had not come across the enfig mic until I saw it on the OP’s post. Just ordered it and should complete my installation with no visible changes to the car.

All ***** and buttons work. Left **** on, off, volume and mute. Right **** is for track selection. Buttons are illuminated. Can purchase the MOST converter from seller. Did not require one as a JL amplifier was used.

How did you get that UI? Can you customize it and add the Porsche Crest on Startup?
Are there any preloaded Maps?
Don't suppose you can get into the trip settings?

What Most Adapter are people buying for this Android unit? Can someone send a link. I have the base non Bose system. However, it has 2 fiber optic wires so I assume I need an adapter.

any porsche/benz mid 2000s most hur adapter will work

The unit has a couple of themes installed. Downloaded Carguru and utilized one of their free themes. There are several apps that create themes. Unit also had a Porsche Crest installed and can be used in start up. Can download any pictures from google and use it as startup. Unit comes with pre installed navigation, but you can install waze or any other nav app. Use google maps through Apple CarPlay. Can’t use the original trip settings, but there should be an app for that.

I noticed the price varies by Processor Speed / Hard Drive size.

I also noticed OP bought 4G/64GB ?

Do you feel this is adequate for use?

I guess I’m wondering why one would need a faster processor. Anybody have feedback on this?

4g/64gb px6 is good still (2.5 years ago standard) but the new ones are 6/128gb with a faster qualComm processor.

like phones + computers etc etc - the processing hardware requirements will always increase (as well as new OS updates) as the apps are continuously updated to do more + require more memory / processing power.

Depends on the user. Have a different spec in a Cayenne 8 core 8 RAM 128 ROM. Do not notice a difference in speed, but not using many apps at the same time and do not have many apps or need for file storage. Typically only use Apple CarPlay with google maps, YouTube and Netflix. Depends on user.

I have a 997.1 Carrera with non-bose, but it is the "sound package plus". Do I need MOST adapter for this?

Also, does this have a built in mic or is it required to get the enfig mic or similar?

Last ?, has anybody tried to add a backup camera with these units and if so what camera? I wanted to try a license plate frame camera if it makes things simpler.

All depends on the number and type of applications for the RAM. If normal use minimum 4G. As for the ROM, depends on the number of apps and files to stored on the unit. Some users store all their music, movies and have significant apps, require more ROM. Typically the higher the better, price difference is immaterial.

If the system is non-Bose, no requirement for the MOST converter.

Unit has a built in microphone and is somewhat usable, but not as good as a good external microphone like Enfig.

Had a BOYO full plate of frame HD mini camera installed 10 years ago. Plugged it into the new head unit and works great.

Thanks! I'll try to report back when I do the install on any issues and take some pictures as well. I've been trying to hold off and wait for the PCCM classic but I really want a back up camera and wireless carplay. I just can't believe they aren't including those features in the year 2022.
