Default 997 keychain

I finally found a solution for a keychain for my 997 key… I never found one that I like enough to use, so have just been using a naked key. After dropping it a few times I needed a solution.

i went w OEM Silver RS door pulls, I replaced mine w leather pulls from exclusive options so had it laying around but could never find a good way to connect them until I stumbled across some Ti connectors from Amazon

TISUR D-Rings with Screw Shackle, U Shape Key Chains Rings, Car Keys Tools, DIY Leather Craft Purse/Wallet Buckle 2pcs https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09DVSRG7L/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_GQ2NFEKC3KP3MZCFBCG8?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

so far it works for me, just thought I’d share far cheaper than some of the other options out there

^^Good idea!

I've had my Leather Porsche Crest key chain for years since early 356 days. Sentimental.

cant beat that one! Too bad they don’t make them like they use to… the new ones just don’t have the same feel…. and I’m sure they won’t manage the same patina over time

Same as groove. I opened mine up and put an AirTag in there. Now I can track it. I like having house keys and car keys separate as I can access my place with my phone.

Nice. Doesn't that long strap constantly brush your knee?

I have a few different ones for the different cars, but for the 997 key I like this simple flip out cover.

i haven’t tried it yet since my car is still in NYC hibernation but it’s a concern, worst case it’s $10 wasted

I used to love these key chains (still do) but these days I prefer simplicity.

Car key. Ring. House key.

Works very well with multiple vehicles too.

can you show the key flipped out also? I’m liking this idea as one of the only rattles in my car is the Porsche crest keychains metal ring rattling on the metal rim of the key heads hole.

Is this a RUF exclusive ? Hand made? Something I might be able to find?

PS found a few on eBay in white, black and brown. Seems like it’s originally from the 993? Neat trinket

thanks!

Definitely not a RUF exclusive - maybe an eBay exclusive LOL. I've probably had it for 8 or 9 years.

I like it and install it with the case facing up when the key is flipped out as that keeps it from being close to my knee. Flipping it in and snapping it shut keeps the key from poking my leg or putting a hole in my pocket.

Yes I'll post a pic for you when I'm back home.
