Is your rib still sore?😉

My wife rolls her eyes and turns away when I mention how my 911 has been a smart purchase and overall a very good value as evidenced by my 17 years of ownership, joy it has brought me and "value' in todays market place. We need each other here to talk amongst ourselves; what other outlet do we have...
My wife does the same thing when I get undressed. We need a Forum for 997 owners in long term Marriages.

Right on.
Kumbaya.

I like the banter.
Some here, obviously, do not.
If you were in the military or played sports, banter is an essential communication tool.

PM me, Sporty, and we can discuss off-line to prevent any perceived butt hurt.

I looked in earlier posts to see if this guy was discussed but couldn't find anything. If you haven't come across him on YouTube before, he does deep dive analysis of the used auto market. Plenty of Porsche models covered including the 997 variants: Fourwheel Trader - Car Depreciation Analysis

Couldn't have said it better if I tried all night

Thanks for the link; great analysis as always by this fellow.

I believe that he should also be taking time-of-year into the analysis which may partially account for his statement that 997.2 (and perhaps all 997) pricing has peaked.

Furthermore, 997.2 production numbers are some of the lowest in Porsche history so less transactions do equate to less reliability in the data.

That all said, all that I want to do after the confirmation that my 997.2 4s coupe 6MT is worth more now than last year at this time, is go put some more (s)miles on her...

So what I'm understanding from posts & in summary, the 997.1 is a much better value and the 997.1 C4 & C4S much better looking.
Anyone wanting to put to sleep the 997.2 is better than 997.2 needs to be a smart buyer and perform Bore Scope Inspection.
....And if shopping for value and prefer to have an extra $20-$25K in bank(for hookers & booze) over a 997.2 purchase and more of a "Warranty" against Bore Scoring, do what I did and buy a higher mileage example
Mine has super clean cylinders at 107,000 miles. Runs/looks/drives & feels like new. I sleep really comfortable and soundly

the 997.2 to is a better car… in a few areas, yes they cost more to get into, but it’s way more refined, more power, interior lots of leather, no IMS to worry about. Same Motor as the 991. Let’s just say I sleep better at night…
now, is the 997.1 a great car? Hell yes!! all these cars someday will need motors, 997.1’s much sooner than the .2’s… this all becomes a “how much can I spend “, I get it we’ve all been there, even now.. buy what your comfortable with

I have full leather - Also later IMS Bearing.
With the increased nombers of 997.2 showing Bore Scoring, I choose the 997.1.
Like music---->To each his own.

that isn’t a common failure in .2.
I’ve had both models so I’m telling you what’s improved and you might have leather but it’s nothing close to the .2 leather.
