GTS Cars For Sale On The Web
#2236
You are correct @motobri
Classified ad, vice an auction with a reserve.
This similar one was RNM at $120K (all in) two years ago...with 1/3 the mileage.
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...arrera-gts-22/
Who knows if RF or GP Motors actually get their lofty list prices?
As a seller, the only way to ensure max sale price is to ask far above what you might accept- so you can't blame the guy for the high ask. Clearly the car has been well maintained and tastefully modded- but the miles are double or triple what the upper range of "low" is considered to be for these now 13/14 year-old cars.
The Aerokit is not universally appreciated, but it does add to the unique factor-which sometimes fetches more $.
We will likely never see the actual sale price, but I would guess about $100K will change hands if a deal is consummated.

Thanks - already has the Sharky bypass! Tell me more about the DSC module as I've never used the suspension adjustment in the 997. Has techart/eibach springs installed as well which I've had on previous cars. Will the DSC module make a big difference if not using the "sport" suspension setting? Looks like I also have SmartTop which is a nice bonus (thanks for posting the former sale listing where it's mentioned).
Also quick question - I believe someone here has a listing of how rare these cars are, and especially so in certain combinations. Would imagine Meteor/Terra is very rare, and especially so in a 2wd, manual, cabrio spec. Any insights you can share or access where I can do the research myself? Thanks again.

I also own a 6 speed Meteor Grey 997 GTS Cabriolet. It's one of 21 delivered in the US. Here's a post I wrote that walks through how I determined the rarity of my car... https://www.gtsence.com/how-rare-is-your-997-gts/
I just reviewed all the data that I used for that post. Most of the 21 were delivered with the standard black/grey interior. One car.. yours.. had terracotta. So yes, very rare.

Here's another one that may just have been listed. Though PDK, seems like a great spec.
No price yet.

What was the mileage on the $115K sale? And do you know if they got full asking price? I can't find the listing. If it sold for anywhere near asking price, that's close to sticker for brand new GTS's back in 2011 and 2012. Sticker on my 2011 RWD was just shy of $118K but the PDK added $4,300 to the price of a manual. If they got close to asking price for a 4 GTS that's pretty impressive imo. since the RWD cars typically get a premium over AWD.

No way to know what it sold for.
Ask and actual sale price may not be equal.
I think it's safe to say that the GTS is not depreciating. Not a lot of data points, since the owners seem to like them and hang on.
The "steals" in past sale history seem to be related to poor presentation, lack of maintenance history or just blind luck.
I just completed several mods to mine, all reversible and OEM parts retained, which have been in the works but not consummated since before Covid.
Shift box, ducktail, Speedster lip, OZ forged wheels, respray front clip and new lip, etc.,etc.
As you are acutely aware, the mods seldom generate increased value when selling- even good ones that are superior to OEM- but I am done worrying about things like that. Make it like you want it and drive it!
