I'm not surprised it sold so quickly. Unique car and color. Totally deserved the baked-in premium for the color alone. I'll probably go a lifetime without ever seeing a SY GTS manual in the flesh. I barely see other GTS's on the road in general. There is supposedly a Guards Red GTS coupe manual in my area. I met the owner this past summer but he wasn't driving the GTS and said he rarely drives it (he has multiple Porsches). What a shame.

Wow someone actually paid top dollar $145K for it while it couldn't even sell at $135K sitting in the lot for the entire 2023 year.

There was another 997 GTS 4 manual which is more rare last year in white and sold at around $130K. Interesting how this market is.

A 4 GTS is far less desirable than a 2 GTS.

You are right as driving dynamic from a 2 is different from a 4 but apparently there are less 4 made vs the 2.

Yes, there were only 95 4 GTS manual coupes sold in the US, since it was only available for 2012. There were 276 RWD manuals across 2011 and 2012. Not sure of the Canadian numbers. The white one you are talking about is probably the one I imported from the US and had listed for sale locally before trading it in at Pfaff. A great car, but I don't think the relatively scarcity has produced higher selling prices.

On a related note, there is a great looking manual C4S for sale on AT right now: https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...icle/705438214

If I was in the market for a 4 GTS, I'd pick this C4S over a more generic 4 GTS build.

Yes the white one could be the same car you mentioned...what a small world!!

Also, would like to hear more about why you would choose a C4S over a GTS car?

I’m saying that a C4S and 4 GTS are very similar - more so than a C2S and a 2 GTS. All things being equal, I would still pick a GTS over a C4S, but I’d pick a better spec’d / unique colour / leather interior C4S like the example I posted over a more vanilla spec 4 GTS.

Yes, as soon as your criteria are manual + low mileage + unique colour, it’s very much a needle in a haystack.

I would say that a super clean manual RWD coupe with no stories and < 30K miles, of any color, comes up only a few times a year.
I normally find them on RF or GPM websites, at a significant premium to what sells on Bat or PCAR.

https://www.classic.com/m/porsche/91...2/carrera-gts/

Case in point:

Asking $102K huh? Hope they get it. Everytime I think this market is softening or can't go higher, there it goes. Love it.

It seemed like there was a flurry of activity in 2021 / 2022, with several great examples coming up (for a while it seemed like RF had one every week). But it's been very slow recently. Some great examples, like the manual convertible with the terracotta interior, and the speed yellow coupe, but otherwise not much.

It's at the point where I'd probably pay whatever anyone was asking if a low mileage, RWD manual coupe in silver, blue or some other interesting colour, with full leather came available.

When the PTS turquoise blue 8k mile coupe sold for $126 in 2020, it seemed like a crazy price. Since then I think there's a lot more awareness of (a) how great these cars are and (b) how very few good ones there are, so my guess is that car would sell for much, much more, regardless of the economy, interest rates, or any other elements of the car market.

Just posted a WTB in the marketplace for a RWD manual coupe.

https://rennlist.com/forums/market/1394429

When I actually filter the VINs by my ideal criteria, it results in 27 cars, which makes this a very hard ask. Further reinforces that there are just so few of these cars available, once you start limiting the search by colour and spec.
