GTS Cars For Sale On The Web
#1786
I don't really follow the 991 market because I don't like the car for various reasons, but I don't remember when the 991.2 came out with the MT optiona available that 991.1 prices dropped dramatically...actually to below 997.2 prices. Now this was for the regular models and maybe the GTS is different but there isn't really anything special about the 991 compared to the 992, whereas both are very different from the 997s. Maybe the 991.1 values have rebounded, but as I mentioned, I don't keep up with those.

This is one of mine. The sticker has a typo, the dealer made that up and it says 420hp, that's actually the Torque rating in Nm. The actual HP is 408hp, same as the GTS. The first three owners were all friends in Sarasota, FL. I sold this for the 3rd owner a few years ago to a client in AZ. He put 200 miles on it in 6 months and sold it to the last owner that had it since 11/15/2018 and put 5200 miles on it.
Car is in great shape and has placed and won many PCA shows when it was in Florida. Tires are 8/32nds all around, but they are coded 2016, so I'd be replace them in the Spring. Just inspected by Harper Porsche here in Knoxville and everything is good. They found a light out in the trunk, and the trunk switch had to be replaced.
The airbox really is a thing of beauty.

Agree with your assessment.
The $100K + ask is quite optimistic.
I'd rather own the S in Post #1718 for $25K less. With the X-51, SC+, SPASM, extended leather, *** and forged wheels....it's a relative bargain at under $80K with 22K miles- even with PDK.
It originally came with OEM Sport Classic wheels, but one of the 5 (!) former owners sold 'em to a buddy.
Still, it has some $4K forged Signature wheels...and that airbox! ! wish the GTS X-51 kit came with it in carbon fiber.

The folding bucket seats that sold on BAT for $18.2 are worth the money if you have a GT2 RS. If you don't, not so much. Much cheaper to source a new RoW pair from Gert for almost half as much. But damn, $35K for a new pair of LWBs!! Yowza! You gotta really want those seats for the price of a new car.

I do think the 991.1 GTS manual will be a bit of a future classic, just by virtue of the combination of powerkit, last naturally aspirated Carrera, most powerful non-turbo Carrera (I guess tied with the 50th Anniversary, which is basically a GTS) and it only being produced for two model years.

I looked long and hard at 991.1 RWD MT GTS Coupés when my 997 CPO was expiring.
Pros:
The RWD with RWS, the dynamic engine mounts, the Aerokit duck without the upper wing, the CarPlay, the N/A 9A1 with 22 more hp, the updated interior, the infinitely better Spyder C/L wheels (better offset and solid black without the polished lip), the “GTS” door decals vs the busy/redundant “Carrera GTS” and- of course- the CPO on a 2015 was still valid, unlike my 2011, which expired in 2016.
Cons:
I was not a fan of the 7MT, the 4” wheelbase extension (ergo the RWS), the Panamera center console, the new rear end/taillights look and the extra $20-30K I would have to kick in after selling mine in 2017 to buy a nicely spec’ed 991.1 GTS.
Ended up keeping mine.
No regrets, but I still think about two I let get away for $90-$100K.
(Those were a buyer’s dream days.)
My holy grail build:
A Rennlister, whom I met in Tuscany, who told me he was selling it…but I never flew out to Jersey to take him up on it. Was my dream spec with OEM Sport Design duck, Alcantara/extended leather, carbon everywhere, SPASM, Burmeister, etc. ($132K build with 8K miles asking $95K!)
And this one, for some reason, tugs at my heartstrings the most:
This dealership example was also a regretted pass:
C’est la vie.
First world probs, fer sure.
All considered, they are two pretty different models:

Good to know. That definitely is a healthy premium for aftermarket inserts. Damn! Someone got screwed.

My understanding of the seat classification is as follows:
- Comfort (1st seat pictured above): 14-way base seat, minimal bolstering, especially lack of shoulder bolsters. Can be heated or heated and ventilated.
- Sport Seats (2nd seat pictured above): more bolstering, noticeably in the shoulder area. These come in manual form or 18-way ***. I believe they can be heated but not sure if they came with heat and ventilation.
- Folding bucket seats (3rd seat pictured): IMO, these are the ultimate in carbon bucket seats from Porsche due to comfort, looks, and versatility. They are the only factory carbon buckets that fold, which allows for easy access to the rear cabin. No heat option in the US.
- GT2 seats (below): these are the true Lightweight Bucket (LWB) seats that many refer to but mistaken for the folding bucket seats. These do not fold.
Somebody correct me if I am wrong with the taxonomy. Post-997, all carbon bucket seats are LWB and non-folding. They look cool but not as versatile as the 997 folding buckets. One last thing, the folding buckets were a rest-of-world (ROW) option for 991s outside of the US. These are the seats I retrofitted into my car. They are full leather and heated, which were not available in the US. Good news is if you have a 991, they are plug and play. Finally, I recommend trying all of the seat variants if you can. Like many things, seats are personal and subjective. That said, I stand by my claim that the folding buckets are not only functional and sporty, but also comfortable. I've done 8+ hour drives in these seats with no complaints. Could not say the same for the comfort seats. The only caveat with the folding buckets is ingress/egress and body size. They are not for large/larger body types. If you go with Sport seats, I highly recommend finding a set of *** with the adjustable lumbar and side bolsters. Like buttah! Peace out and Happy Thanksgiving!

Where do these “996 GT3” seats fit in the scheme?
