You working on this stuff outside in NY - WOW, you the man!
Unless it's the car angle, you may be low on coolant.

Lets hope the cup car doesn't upset the car.

Yea, I have a feeling with all those solid mounts you may start seeing boost get pulled by the knock sensors. It's definitely going to be a very raw feel and experience vs the normal turbo fairly cushy one.

I'll tell you Jared, my hat is off too you. Not only are you installing the solid mounts, but you've got your TT in pieces out on the street, you're working on it at night lighted by another car's headlights, and you're doing it outdoors in January New York weather. That's about four levels of ballsiness beyond what I even think about, let alone attempt. Good luck, hope it works out well.

Runnin dry
greetings 🖖🏼
so it appears as my love for shiny car parts has gotten me into trouble yet again! (This isnt the first time)
Im not sure which variation of cup blade this is but it appears to possibly be a rsr blade 🤷🏻♂️
It is about ab an inch narrower than other gt3 cup counterparts.

NOTE: in pictures #1,2,4
The brace is installed BACKWARDS.
this is not the correct orientation.
Also note, if youre wondering how in the heck i got the oe turbo engine brace out.
Well i cut it into pieces. Using a sawzall and angle grinder. 😂 no cap 🧢
getting that fcker out was no small task so diy beware.
My exhaust is the next thing thats going to get chopped aswell. Thing is rusted to hell. New studs, hardware and straight pipes on the way.
More updates on the way

OP you will never be accused of lacking tenacity. Staying tuned to see the outcomes.

Ok so enough is enough.
Im not happy with this but i need my car back.
So heres some backyard hot roding.
should be good enough til the correct parts arrive.
you see where im going with this?
the rsr brace is an in too narrow. This is my solution til i get a regular cup brace. More pics and updates soon!
time to drill some holes in this fcker and hopefully have my motor off my friends 25 year old walmart jack

Not my best or prettiest work to date but atleast it will bolt in now. A few more minor adjustments and my engine should be supporting itself on its own, again.
Next up on my angle grinders menu for today will be my exhaust. Cant wait to get that fcker off. More pictures and updates soon!

Props to you Jared doing work on the street, however that cobbed together carrier support is just asking for problems with potentially bending or that hardware loosening. You might as well just put the stock carrier back in as there is no real reason to run the Cup unit on a street car.

They do, even the RSS ones cause more noise on the knock sensors vs stock or the RS mounts do. A lot of the noise comes from the mounting to the engine carrier. The 996tt has less issue with this than the 997tt.

its just a temporary fix to get my car into my shop, and to get the other brace in the mail, it will be fine.
i have straight pipes and a bmc on the way so a tune will be in order regardless.
and lol at putting the stock carrier in.
