For the record there are shops in the Greater Seattle region that charge more than $11k to do the full welded coolant lines service on Mezger engines. I personally chose a more affordable shop to do that to my own GT2, but they were a bit further from the city. I suspect the service would cost considerably less in other regions of course but my only point is that $11k isn't crazy depending on where you live and who you choose to do the work.
The seller said the pipes had been pinned and it was an $11k job. Perhaps it's true but if so the previous owner got taken to the cleaners as there are countless posts in the Turbo forum documenting the work for half of that. On top on that, the seller's post has numerous misstatements and obfuscations regarding the car's history and who did the actual work, continually implying that the work Jared did was actually done by the prior owner. He doesn't get the benefit of the doubt.
Just because it's possible in some theoretical sense doesn't make it true or even plausible. I appreciate that there's a non-zero chance it may have happened but I call BS.
Edit: Adding that the seller didn't post any invoices with the listing which he could have easily done if he really had evidence of an $11k pinning job. Also noting that the car is now showing it's been sold for $42,250.

Seller's name is Patrick Mitchell. Lives in Midlothian. He is in his 30s and owns a very big house, two "businesses" (one I couldn't find), and one of them is in the back yard of a house (just a big garage).
Pinnacle Performance (his car shop)
Marshall's Body and Paint (his "body" shop)
He wouldn't tell me what he does for a living and says it is "hard to explain".
I'm also the current top bidder.
