Definitely let us know how this pans out. Thanks!

hey Busta Rib , let us know if the wrinkles go away eventually. It would be a shame if they didn't. Those seats are too beautiful and too expensive to have them. This would bother the s**t out of me, every time I would get in the car

Once AWS is turned off the passenger airbag will deploy regardless of occupancy.

Driver seat has already smoothed out. Passenger taking a little longer, but it has only been a couple days. I suspect with warmer weather, it will get back to normal. It's a balmy 51* in Bend right now so it might take awhile!

Not casting doubt on that statement at all but just curious how this was determined? I guess only problematic with the younger folk as the airbag is disabled with kids under a certain weight.

Sidebar related to the heated seats, the 991 has a 3 stage heated seat whereas the 997 generation cars have 2 stage. I wonder if the heating only reaches the 2nd level? Not that it matters much I'm sure it's still plenty toasty, but just curious.

I installed my gt2 seats my self but Got the dash airbag light. This is what I was told/shown on my set. (grain of salt because safety) The US seat has an airbag weight sensor (AWS) on the passenger seat, its only job is to send the signal to enable/disable the passenger airbags based on the weight sensor being triggered. The AWS does not impact how/what/when any of the airbags are deployed as that is still controlled by the sensors that determine if the airbags should deploy. the AWS only says "yes you can deploy the airbags because something with enough weight is in the seat"

Was grilling them cause I have a kid I want to get into the front seat.

I can't even see the wrinkles referred to in the pictures. I have those seats and just a friendly suggestion to the OP. Get some bolster protectors or you'll have more than wrinkles bothering you in the near future. No matter how good you get getting in and out of those buckets, those bolsters will show wear that's worse than a few wrinkles. Learned the hard way with my -09 C4S with the same seats.

Lots of options, none of which I would call costly so worth investing in for $10,000 seats imo: https://www.google.com/search?source...&bih=747&dpr=1

I hear you but I can't bring myself to add the bolster protectors. It's like putting plastic film on top of fine furniture. It doesn't feel or look the same to me. If the bolsters get worn, I will get them reupholstered.

mine came with alcantara bolster protectors. Don’t even notice they exist. I’m generally pretty good getting in and out so have no idea really what kind of job they’re doing.

I feel the same way but the protectors I have are pretty discrete. Nothing like the obnoxious long plastic "tubes" shown in the Google search. The guy I bought the car from had my current ones installed. I'll take a picture and post it in a day or two. They're small, black that blend in with the seats and definitely not plastic. Some kind of leather. Whatever it is, it does a perfect job of protecting the bolsters and as I said, barely noticeable.

The ones you want are EdGuard (https://www.edguardusa.com/shop) made by @Crazy Eddie they match the leather and stitching perfectly. You won’t know they are there.

Photo of them installed in my 997 GT3, I also have the same seats and bolster covers in my 997 GTS as well.

Wow you can't even notice those Edguard thingies. I bought a replacement bolster just in case for the driver side since nobody rides with me. $425. But if I don't use it somebody will want them later.

I only weigh 155lbs and I use my left arm on the door jamb like a pole vault to get my *** up and over the bolster. No problem-o.

I finally got a chance to go on an extended drive with the LWBs and tested out the heat. Stock seats were ventilated/heated with 2-stage heat. Based on my tests, the LWBs provide 2-stage heat as well.

Has anyone successfully installed both driver and passenger 991 GT2 buckets in to a 997 without drama? With the 997 style being NLA it seems the 991 style are the only choice left for us wanting to retro fit.

Also, curious how the heating works as 991 is a 3 stage seat heat where the 997 generation cars were two stage.

The only adjustments that's available for these seats is sliding the seat forward/backward and then tilt forward correct?
No recline or seat height built into the seat itself?

I wonder if you could use side mount bucket seat brackets instead of factory brackets to adjust height and recline, thoughts?
