Door part ID please
See picture - the part that surrounds the power window buttons, it’s pretty worn, I’d like to replace.
I tried searching for it on eBay...no luck. What’s it called, best place to buy?
Hoping it’s not part of the door panel.
thanks

Door finisher. There are many part #s depending on interior colors/options. What year car?
also, it's not a hard part to R&R, but you do have to drill out some plastic rivets and use a heat gun/soldering iron to melt the new pins back onto the door panel. There is a write up online here somewhere.

Door Spears. Replacement is $70 at sun coast Link
Did it it myself and it just takes time. Door has to come off, I would order a couple door tabs as you may break a couple.
Then you have to melt or drill the plastic rivets on the back. Easy to remove. Then add the new one on, hold pressure and remelt the rivets. I used a soldering iron. Others have used screws instead of melting the plastic.
Real simple. If you can unscrew a bolt you can do this. Just look up where the bolts are for the door and you will be fine.

I think I have a couple of these in black as I replaced mine with CF. Let me know if interested and I can post pics and come up with a number.
I prefer the screw attachment method to melting them as you can adjust the attachment point tension to get them drawn in tight and flush all the way around. If they're not in tight enough, the inner door handle won't sit right and will rub.
I've done 4 replacements on these - 3 with the screws and one with the melting.
Here are photos of a pair of door panels I sold after replacing the door spears using the screw attachment method. Then before installation, you put a thin piece of adhesive gasket material over the screw heads so they don't vibrate against the metal door at resonant frequencies.

Not trying to intrude but isn't there a caveat about disconnecting the battery 30 minutes in advance because of airbags ?

Yes, any time you're going to disconnect one of those yellow connectors, the battery should be disconnected first but I don't believe the door one throws a code if you hook it back up before turning the key - the steering wheel and the seats ones do.

I'm not aware that the cab is different from the coupe for a 997. Send me a pic of yours and I will be able to tell. I should have both the driver & passenger side.

Cabs have extra cut out for rear window switches to raise or lower on drivers side. Can see difference in your pics vs the first one linked

Seems easier just to strip the coating and leave the part in place.
