Cobb AP

Have one on my .2 C2S along with Fabspeed ProTune since I have their exhaust/intake/headers/cats. Protune made a bigger difference then the standard Stage 1 map obviously since I had the supporting mods. Mine is manual but I've heard great things about the PDK tune.

I have the PDK, full FabSpeed intake and exhaust and Protune as well. Protune makes a difference. But, don't expect a lot without any other mods.

Thanks for the reply. I see the engine calibration results in very small gains for the OTS maps.
I'm mostly interested in the PDK mapping.
Any specific impressions of the PDK mapping you can provide?
Aloha.

The PDK has it's own ECU, so it requires a separate tuning unit. The Cobb ECU tuner provides changes that are similar to the Sport/Sport Plus feature. It basically changes your low and high end shift points to keep you in a higher rpm range and effects your throttle response. Most people with the PDK, enjoy the Sport mode. I don't like it. If I want to drive aggressively, I can do my own shifting. But, if you are drag racing it's good for much more consistent runs, because with the other mods, you are through first and second gear faster than you can react. I would get the Sport/Sport Plus feature installed instead of the Cobb because it's much more convenient to use and has dual settings and can be turned off. If your car already has the Sport Chrono option, you don't need anything else.

In that case, I would skip the PDK mapping as I already have Sport Chrono and just do the engine mapping.

The Cobb unit for PDK is for cars that don't have Sport/Sport+. All it does is provide similar changes to the PDK that you get with Sport Chrono. I also am familiar with the Cobb AP for Subaru. I owned a seriously tweaked Forester XT for a number of years. It was the king of the sleepers!

I have the PDK tune. LOVE IT!!
Yes it works just like the standard , sport, and sport plus modes, It just raises the shift points.
You can also choose "sport" or "Aggressive" PDK mode when flashing. I like the "Aggressive" for my TTS.

Some clarification about the Cobb PDK tuning:
PDK tuning is an option you enable on the Cobb AP -- you do not need a second Cobb tuner.
Cobb's PDK tuning works on conjunction with the factory Sport/Sport+ modes that come with Sport Chrono; it does more than just add Sport/Sport+ modes. And yes, you still use the Sport/Sport+ buttons. If you have the PDK flash from Cobb, Sport and Sport+ activate more aggressive, Cobb defined parameters.
From Cobb's own website about the 997.2: https://www.cobbtuning.com/products/...-997-2-carrera
- Increased Minimum Shift Points
This feature increases the lowest RPM at which the PDK will shift to the next gear in Normal and Sport drive modes.
- Increased Shift Firmness
COBB Sport, COBB Aggressive, and COBB High Torque Aggressive maps raise the shift firmness to help reduce clutch slip.
-Minimized Continuous Clutch Slip
COBB Sport, COBB Aggressive, and COBB High Torque Aggressive maps decrease the RPM at which the clutch is engaged in continuous slip, generally between 1000-2500RPM.
-Decreased Shift Time
COBB Aggressive maps decrease upshift and downshift time
-Summary
COBB Sport: Increased minimum shift points, shift firmness increased, and continuous slip decreased.
COBB Aggressive: All COBB Sport features plus decreased shift time
