Maybe a different topic for the evening. I want to change the exhaust. Love the sound of the Fisters, and price is great too. I'll eventually get x-pipe and headers, but was wondering if x-pipe before doing the fisters results in quality sound? I couldn't find any videos of a .1 with JUST the x-pipe. Not concerned with emissions.

No center muffler on .1 cars which is why you can't find any videos with 997.1's with x-pipes. No application for them. Just fix the mufflers. Lots of options. I had Tubi mufflers on my 2006 C4S and the sound would be hard to beat imo. More $ than the Fisters though but as with everything else, you get what you pay for.
I've never seen a .1 video with just the x-pipe either. It makes sense to get the Fisters and then go from there. I have Fisters, 200 cel X pipe, and headers (both are Fabspeed). I did the headers & x-pipe a couple months after the Fisters. I noticed the header/x-pipe combo really brightened up the sound and obviously turned it up a notch, but it never occurred to me to upgrade the exhaust without starting with the Fisters. I did see a .2 vid that indicates it is only the x-pipe, but that's a different horse.

I just went through this exact question with my 997.2. From searching this forum, and there is plenty to read on here regarding this, it was overwhelmingly clear that just going with a center pipe alone makes nearly zero difference at all.
I decided to go with the Fister's first, and glad that I did. The sound is amazing without annoying your neighbors, and absolutely zero drone inside the car. I may do the center pipe later down the road, but am not in a hurry to do it.
Again, this is on a 997.2, so there may be slight differences, but from my research, that was the general consensus.
I did Fister mufflers a few months back for the sound, and they delivered. It now sounds like a proper Porsche. I will next do 200 cel cat x pipe, and headers for performance reasons
The x-pipe being referred to on .1 cars is for the cats. I have the Fabspeed 200 cell x-cats on my silver car, along with their equal length headers and valvetronic mufflers (their version of PSE, but NLA for the .1s).
I did the complete exhaust at once so can't tell you what piece made each contribution, but the end result is awesome. My wife's car has only the Gundo hack and sounds very good for a low dollar spend. You'll definitely get more bang for your buck starting with the Fisters and doing the x-cats later.
Slight tangent from the original post - if I have PSE, does it make sense to do 200 cell cats as my first exhaust mod?
Scott from Fabspeed here, If your car is equipped with factory PSE, in efforts to add exhaust note AND performance gains, I would start the X-pipe with 200 Cell HJS Cats. Direct bolt on replacement from your factory high cell count cats, adds 18whp, 22ft/lbs, and cuts 4 pounds from the rear of the car.
