They made the 997.2 GTS in 2011 and 2012 and the 997.2 4GTS in 2012 only.... maybe this is why there are fewer 4GTSs.......

I can only guess and my guess is that a 4 GTS is basically a C4S with CL wheels (in most cases), X51 and some other nice bits and pieces. That's what made the "regular" 997 GTS special. Only 997 wide body with rear wheel drive except for the super cars GT3RS and GT2.
I love when you say on this and other strings "a 4 GTS is basically a C4S with CL wheels (in most cases), X51 and some other nice bits and pieces." But the GTS is special because it is all of that in 2 wheel drive......

No fight just a OBSERVATION.....
4GTS is special because.... wait for it.... 2012 only....... they sold for more... they resale for more... and fewer are for sale....
This takes nothing away from the GTS.... I LOVE THEM
BUT.... I have a 4GTS

Porsche doesn’t publish that so your guess is as good as anybody else’s.

Default sharkwerks

A couple of questions for you GTS owners...

i am am thinking about installing the sharkwerks exhaust. Other than the improved exhaust note, any other benefits? Any down sides?
sharkwerks claims 12 hp gains.
thanks in advance

I can't think of any down sides, only upsides. You're removing what I'm guessing has to be at least 20 lbs of weight from the rear of the car. The difference in exhaust note is fairly dramatic when you push that little button with the two exhaust pipes. What some don't seem to recognize is that you still have the OEM PSE quiet/loud option with the SW x-pipes installed so you can sneak out of the neighborhood early in the morning with little or no more rumble than with the stock center muffler. As for the extra 12hp, I don't know. Even if that's what it actually produces, who can feel a 12hp boost? I know I can't.

I installed the sharkwerks xpipe and have PSE now for about 3 years - very good combination. It takes the 997.2 quieter exhaust with PSE to a deeper note, and can be controlled with PSE to be a bit more aggressive sounding. No downside from my perspective. I have a 997.2 C2S. I can't comment on added power, but also have added an IPD 997.2 Plenum and installed a Evomsit performance tune. Including the addition of a software tune, very happy with the combination of an xpipe, and the Plenum mod.
