Sorry, if you live somewhere that you get 23 offers on your house, you didn't need to have an open house in the first place. I'm glad you live in a market that is that strong, but action like that is an outlier, not the way most of the rest of the country lives.

I'm glad to hear the OP's car was recovered. Fingers crossed for no damage.

Did the cops recover any of the other stolen cars or items that were taken on the same day?

Do they still hang horse thieves in the OP's neck of the woods?

Nothing else has been recovered, just the car. A lot of audiophile equipment was stolen too, but it has not turned up yet.

The thief went to the casino with the car and was arrested there. The car is mildly damaged cosmetically but can be fixed. A DME report shows serious over revs however. That's going to be tougher to deal with.

Yeah, I'm following your over-rev thread with great interest. I'm sorry to hear about that.

I am curious...are the over-revs something that will cause you to sell the car or are you just pursuing the diminished value idea to be made whole and you plan to keep the car?

I would truly hate to drive a car that I knew had been stolen and ragged out for a day or two, but I think with time and miles, I might be able to get past it if I loved the car.

I'd certainly be on pins and needles for a while, though. Every new noise, vibration and smell would put me on high alert.

Seriously? My DME report would read all peaks and no valleys. It's a Porsche.....ring it out.

I feel for you more than ever. My 997 was stolen just over a month ago. Still at the dealer getting sorted out. Glad someone was arrested in your case. Someone was arrested with my incident as well. He was locked up for about two weeks. I imagine he will have a court date and face more time.

Not to get off-topic, but how was yours stolen? Did they get access to one of the keys.

I'd definitely be paranoid for awhile about mechanical failures, but for me, it's more of a personal space thing. If my car is pushed hard, I want to be the one doing it. I don't like other people touching my stuff.

It would be similar to knowing that your girlfriend spent the weekend with some other dude and he did things to her with a vigor and abandon that you never experienced with her. She might come back with no physical issues, but the blush would be off the rose, as they say.

My car was stolen with a copy of my key. Detectives say a screw driver. When I visited my car at the dealer they confirmed the ignition is fine. We got a key from another 997 and the ignition turns but wont fire as expected.

I completely understand the girlfriend thing. Being alone with the car and having my wife along in the car are very different experiences. Wife does not need to know the car has lost 400#'s and has unspeakable engine mods and get me there much faster than she does.

....and ya, would not want another man inside.
