I'm going to go against the grain here. Savanna would be a big plus for me and so would the wood trim. On my list savanna comes behind cinnamon and saddle brown but well ahead of black.

I like the 110k estimate because of that, if it was black and carbon or aluminum trim I'd take the under just a bit.

Good freaking grief that one-of-one in Gelb Orange at Sotheby's

I think they may be significantly underestimating that car

I know I'm picking nits (and I'm definitely not directing this at you in a personal way), but "hammered" implies that BaT (and C&B, and PCarMarket) is an auction house. It's not. I can be pedantic and get into the whys again, but I'll spare all of you that. I wonder what final prices would look like if proof of funds were required before bidding, and if shill bidding were policed?

I am sorry I missed out on the 2004 GT3 that went for reasonable money today.

I have no problem with using the term "hammered".

Sorry you missed out on the GT3.

Nit picked. I will continue to use "hammered", and I'm sure everyone will know why.

Unchanged, IMHO. I am not in favor of that bureaucracy.

Me too! That was a good buy.

I'm new to BaT, bid one time on a car, I "lost". felt like a fake experience in terms of who's bidding, why are they bidding, do they have an agenda, a vested interest? seemed like bidding went up for no apparent reason other than to "win". Or bid it up so the market does great, e.g., I own one, I sell these cars for a living? How cynical can I be? Agree BaT provides access to cars I might not find elsewhere but what does BaT do to block shill bids? I'll briefly comment on the BaT peanut gallery; I'm fascinated by the comments from said folks, mostly know little about the car, provide wrong information and go on to useless tangents and sometimes bid!

I sold a car on the other site (C&B) and the high bid was $37k. Spoke to buyer in detail after sale, drafted bill of sale and emailed a bunch of documents. Next day his Dad calls me and says they can't afford car.....

That said, I did buy a 911 TT on C&B, my high bid was below reserve, C&B bridged by lowering buyer's premium.

Online auctions are wacky yeah but they move cars. I sold a car on BaT sale went perfectly. Buyer never saw the car and sent a truck to pick it up. It was nicer than described too. Win win

yeah it's pretty crazy that people would go on an auction site to bid on things to win them

One of the things I like about all the auction sites (BaT, C&B, PCAR) is that you actually know what the car sold for. With dealers or private listings, it is almost impossible to determine the final transaction price. The comment sections are a riot, I feel like it is all part of the experience, navigating the gauntlet of haters, armchair experts, shillers and even the odd maven.

Based on some notes on this forum and hearing the same in other forums/reviews, the final price only indicates what the car was bid to. The actual sale price or actual sale may be different if there were issues between the buyer and seller.
