I'll bet gnat would go do a Rennfax on it for you if you sent him a pm. It looks like it has good bones. A set of stock silver twists would do wonders for it. You could probably sell the current rims for about what the twists would cost. I like the GT2 wing. Just replace that front spoiler with a stock one - a $75 fix. I think someone went overboard with the silver interior paint - but you could just return some of them to black easy enough.
I'm not a big fan of the big silver subwoofer box, but looks like quality sound gear given the JL Audio amp.
Assuming it's mechanically sound, it looks like a good buy. He's probably scaring some people off with the body mods, but those are easily remedied. And a couple of the mods are keepers (GT2wing and double DIN stereo). Plus, it's Guards Red, and if that's its original color, that means it comes with the extra 25hp power pack from the factory.
It has been listed for a while. I remember contacting the owner back in November and he said "it's all good" and when I asked for more details he said "it's all good" - so that was definitely a warning sign. I would likely want to take off the front spoiler and find some turbo twists to return it closer to stock.
Has anyone looked at this one? 2002 Porsche 911 Twin Turbo - $33000 (Clifton, VA)

Thanks soooo much for offering my services KC
I thought the deal was you wouldn't let on that I can be a nice guy?
rezilient, It isn't too far from me so I could try to work out putting eyes on it for you if you'd like. I also have a Dura Pro so I can scan it for you as well. With our recent weather I expect this weekend would be the soonest I could see it and I doubt a drive would be possible. I can also recommend a couple of local Porsche shops you could have a PPI done through. PM me if you'd like to see if we can work something out.
gnat - Got my GT3 print back from the frame shop today. Cost a whopping $7.77 to make it good as new. Just trying to return the favor by getting you some turbo seat time. I figure since you are spending so much time over here, it's only a matter of time before you succumb to the siren song of the twin turbos anyway.

Meh, I'm a NA guy. Outside of diesels, turbos just don't do it for me. Besides, you know I'd never be interested in a car with MkII head lights

This is a solid deal for a 55K mile car. Not sure what he was thinking with the matte black bumper. Also clean the interior if you want to sell it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/141882925472?ul_noapp=true

"I am selling this because, honestly, I am not mature enough to own this car."
Sounds like maybe his wife wrote the ad description.. Or mom.
The e-bay car for 33k isn't a bad deal but look here today with the mentioning of the same year with 33k mi for roughly 44k bought with good maintenance= especially if he follows thru with ppi suggestions. Its better to pay more upfront and also you will make most if not all back up at resale= that's my opinion from years of the car game.
That car just needs 1-2k in work and it would easily fetch 40k with those miles. Def a nice car to flip.
I've been seeing a lot of sub 30k 996tt lately. Guess the hype bubble has popped for now. As much as I would like to think these will climb in value I truly don't think they will. Do to their production numbers coupled with A indestructible engine. Only way the numbers go down is people wrecking them.
I just can't wait to get one myself. I've been looking a little over a year now. I'm just after something specific
A clean car is hard to find now just imagine the higher mileage car with another 50k put on them in the hands of someone worried about costs= harsh but true. Sub 30k cars are available but not the norm, I really do not understand the mentality used on this forum in that sports cars have always been available on the cheap with high miles= sports cars are usually not everyday drivers and the miles stay low. If you like and can do your own repairs its a fun hobby otherwise it a stupid move to buy high a mile sports car when your budget is already low..
I need to start another thread that says "Post all blk/blk 996tt manual between $40k-$50k anywhere in the Midwest" Appernetly you guys are a lot better finding 996tt then I am.
