A tad higher than I had hoped to but I rationalized it by 1) being able to see the car and records in person, 2) color/options to my liking, 3) not having to have it shipped from out of state, 4) a very satisfactory test drive.
I think I got a fair deal, not a great one. In the end, however, I've never understood passing on a car you want over a couple grand. I don't have the patience to search for months and even in searching nationwide, I didn't see a lot of "deals" out there.
Now to do something about that stance!

I think the 996 turbo has stabilized in value, if not started to tick upwards.
For perspective, maybe 5-7 years ago I paid $53k for a 2001 with 42k miles that really wasn't in that great of condition. I fixed up that car and its still being enjoyed by a member. But at least I did better than that and this car is WAY nicer. And as a bonus, I get a cup holder, glove box, and subwoofer:-)
Anyway, money is spent so not going to second guess myself. Having been in GT3s for the past several years, this is the first semi-modern Porsche I'm going to get to daily drive in some time. I'm looking forward to that.

However, I'd rather get a fair deal on a great car than a great deal on a fair car...
It was either on Sixspeed or Rennlist that I read "The cheapest Porsche you buy may end up being the most expensive car you ever own..."

Got my Toyo R888s finally fitted and drove around in the freezing temps... grip is incredible just fantastic.... car held each gear well but with the E85 tune was getting a little high in the torque zone and was getting some knock in 3rd and 4th at high revs. I will detune it when I get a chance to the 93 octane tune for the balance of the winter. I may just need larger injectors as my IDC% is 100 at 5200 rpms.
Today, the car battery is dead so I ordered an Exige Edge (very heavy but I need some more weight in the front of my car and it has big CCAs)
I tried charging my old battery but meh... I am now also stuck here in Quogue as my old car blew the tranny and engine whilst on my annual jaunt to FL with the missus... donated to cars-4-kids.
Looking at a missus DD, probably an A3, Ford Focus ST or Golf GTi, she is cheap when it comes to cars so is looking at a sub $500 lease... of course I am telling her to get a turbo car that conveniently I can tune with either a COBB or Eurodyne
:-)
