As John said the doors and hoods are amazing, picked up both and they are really a work of art. Will be a shame going from wall art in the garage to onto the car where they will be hidden away. Well worth the buy!

Ohhhh, that's cool!

Cool trick with the ratchet straps, I should have thought of that when I put the cage in my STI... there was a lot of cursing trying to get it to line up, especially with springy steel.

Makes it way easier when you need just that extra little wiggle room.

Latest price from Porsche is $9800 for the GT3RS hood. My price $4900.....

Also have a full 996GT2 interior (black with lightweight carpets, door cards, headliner, everything but the dash) and an OEM 997GT3 IVM Clubsport full roll cage (front 996 and rear 997) available up for grabs. The bottom and rear carpets have the correct cutouts for the OEM cage. The OEM Clubsport cage (black) is unobtainium now. Just pulled everything out of my car...

Why, out of curiosity... I thought your car was well sorted?

If there's anything we've learned about John over the years it's that no matter how well sorted his car may be, there is still sorting to do.

It was, it is. Car is phenomenal and crushed it last year in NASA TTU running all season without a single hiccup. The only thing is, I wanna race it wheel to wheel in HSR and NASA and that requires a full weld in cage along with full fire suppression and all the other bits and pieces. As such, we are in the process of completely stripping the car down to the tub to install a weld-in 16 pt 997 FIA approved cage. Once that's done, it's going in for a respray of the interior to body color. I already have brand new aero for the car which should provide a huge improvement to downforce over the existing set up. We are also installing 996Cup carbon kevlar doors and plastic windows. We should be under 2800 lbs with a 1000lbs of downforce and 800hp at the wheels. Should be fun. While at it, since the gearbox it out of the car, a Motec M150 ECU will go in with larger turbochargers. It will be a completely different car.

Needless to say, the existing interior and Clubsport cage will be looking for a new home.

That is a very modest comment, John.

Well, your diving into a serious deep end; once it is set up like that, I take it that will be its way until the end of time? No longer really, 'streetable', or insurable?

Bravo, good fun indeed.

Honestly, I haven't driven the car on the street on over two years so keeping it steerable is a moot point. I still register it but not really sure why.
