What did you do to your 996TT today?

Hey Scott,
I have my mic set up the same way. I’ve tried several mics and the one that seems to work the best is the racelogic mic with the 3 meter cable. Use a wind sock on it. Here is the link to it.

I know you asked the OP but I have the same problem...you can't really. I did once place a piece of left over painters sheet over the engine which did help but it wasn't worth the hassle. I just let the motor get wet then wipe it down. It forces me to keep it clean under there I suppose...

Installed new seats. They replaced 997 GT3 sofas, and compared to those you get a moderate amount more hip/thigh support and just a touch more lateral thorax support. The biggest reason I got them was so I could run 6 point harnesses. Still need to wrap the shoulder straps to the harness bar. Also, they barely fit, as the factory seatbelt receptacle is smashed between the seat and center tunnel pretty damn good. I may get rid of the factory seatbelt altogether but I have it like that in one of my other cars and I gotta say it can get annoying strapping into the 6 point harnesses when running errands and such. Any other suggestions to free up some space on the tunnel side?

I see you have coils along the rear of the engine bay; Is this because of a stand alone?
Also love the gold thermal wrap on the intake, very trick.

^ Yes, good point about the harnesses, definitely do not want to wear helmet and hans on the street! I drive this car on the street so it makes sense to keep the 3 point. I actually tried running it through the hole but the seats are relatively shallow and it doesn't seem to add much doing it that way. And the seat belts receptacles do have felt on them, it's just damn tight, they're wedged between the seat and console pretty hard. Almost need some sort of slim receptacle or something. Or one with a longer stem that would clear the seat, but then it would be way too high.

^ LOL I think that is made for people that cannot stretch the seatbelt around their bellies. It would not help me, as it retains the factory receptacle in the same spot (which is the problem).
