Cannot wait!
You should be able to bang off 300k miles in a flash...

Man, that is incredible Tom. Any chance you're heading to the PCA Northeast ramble in late April? I am trying to get a few mods / maintenance items done on my 996TT this month so I can make the trek!

That is a wonderful anecdotal report! and I for one am sure of two things being a senior 996 Turbo owner myself, whose now 18 year ownership corresponds to the lowly mileage of a hair over 200K.
They are: you'll never lose the smile from our shared "Le Mans" start, and you'll never lose the "**** and vinegar".
That remains long after other stuff dissipates! Again, long may you run, and I hope I read of your eventual and certain Million Mile milestone!

So I performed some math, at an average of 60 MPH for all those miles, I've spent 1.33 continuous years in the seat of the car, in the 20.5 years of ownership. That was fun!!

I have been reading with great pleasure some of the articles chronicling T2's adventure of the recent years past and it's quite an inspiration. I read in one of how of how purportedly the factory suggested the motor was good for 250K miles. Which seems like their usual top speed estimates a modest if not conservatively arrived at number. I am quite sure my car sitting just over the 200k threshold is good for a bit more than another 50k miles! I do think I will take T2's advice and shorten the oil change intervals from 6k down to 5! Why not. The 'ol girl deserves it by now.
But imagine my surprise to read that his car is not now an outlier. Here's a Car and Driver article I stumbled upon on one from 2017! that then had nearing 590k on the clock. So, 24 hours at Le Mans? Or 500 K on the street! I'll take the 500 K thanks!

It could probably use a refresh if it hasn't had one but ain't no damn 6 speed on the original clutch with that many miles.

I'm on my second clutch now, first was replaced at 373k, pressure plate cracked. The clutch plate at that point was mic'd and it had 90% of the material left based on material depth measurement. I replaced it proactively. My concern was the spring retainers in the clutch plate. I am an engineer by degree and remember, very well, the lessons from college on fatigue....stress and cycles and how to quantify it based on the number of cycles. There are a few models to determine this. In both the first clutch and the engine out work at 383k, it was purely based on fatigue dynamics that made me replace the necessary wear items. It was the smart thing to do at that point. Labor was already a sunk cost.
