Hey Jean:
Thanks for the info! You are WAY into this stuff!
I also have the Techart Sport exhaust which should be good for 10-20HP (when used with proper chip).

I also have clear side markers. Can we check into the HP increase with those?

It depends, do you still have the bumperettes?

Where the he** was the big talking GAIC Doc and his Mean machine??

I am so disappointed, oh well maybe he was in for his annual "flashload"

Woodster:

Look what you have done!!!! An 8-page thread on chipping! You made me go out, break the law and do some street racing (which I have always opposed). I couldn't beat Bill and his (cheap) PSI chip. Now I will be going to the PCA DE this weekend traumatized, and have to "beat up" on the little Boxsters, 944's and 911's!

Now you are getting on Dock's case, again!

Now, for therapy, I have to go back and review all 50-pages of the "Grid Girls" thread!

Thanks ALOT.

The same gearing between your two cars takes out one of the variables that might impact acceleration differences.

It's the "...with acceleration improving north of 100MPH." I don't get. How your car pulls is a function of where you are on the power curve (RPM), and what the overall gear ratio is that you're turning. At 5500 rpm in 2nd, you should be accelerating "harder" than at the same rpm in 3rd. Each higher gear should accelerate less (not as hard) at the same 5500 rpm.

RXDOC,
Don't forget, I have clear side markers as well....that's why we were tied

Plus I think the clear bra on my car decreases the Coefficient of Drag and thus I can build boost faster..... Plus my guards red car is brighter than your black car

What in the world are you talking about? Have you *ever* seen me post about how fast my Turbo is?

BTW, my Turbo is hard wired with GIAC Stage 2...and I was working Saturday and Sunday.

this thread seems like a scene from" lost in translation." Is Dock ever going to tell us why he didn't show up, notwithstanding the enlightening posts regarding gearing.

I might have missed it, but was this modded car get together some kind of "throw down the gauntlet", all or nothing, reschedule work and personal obligations kind of day?

When schedules line up and everybody can show on the same day, we can run all the cars. If you're waiting for a few runs between the cars here in Atlanta before deciding which software to go with then you're going to have to wait.

I am not a GIAC fan for high hp engines, but the stage 2 ZC will give both cars a run for their money. That must be the most balanced package they are selling, it performs greatly.
