not sure it will matter in the long run if 45 or 60k miles. Either way is not a 5k mile queen.
I do have a blast driving it, both street and track…
probably best to keep on enjoying!

Bought in 2014 with 11K miles and track mods already done (LWFW, Cup Clutch, suspension bits, euro buckets, 1/2 cage, guards diff) for $69. Last year suspension work with KWV3 and engine out service (all rubber and plastic bits).
now with 46k miles. About 6 track days/year and drive to work 3-4 days/month on average.
A couple of the other guys with 996 GT threes who have been on track have now been putting them away and getting other cars for their track days. Hate to do it, but getting a bit nervous about continuing to drive on the track.
They have suggested keeping it for rare use, keep it safe, get something else like a 2014 Cayman S to play around on the track and drive more daily..
Hopefully flames this question will be at minimum, really curious to hear what y’all think

But: This vehicle is equipped with the GT3's original 3.6L Flat 6, but has seen well over $30,000 in upgrades. The engine was bored out to 3.8L's, and received accommodating supporting mods such as Deman stainless steel headers, FabSpeed 200 cell sport cats, Fabspeed carbon cold air intake, and Fabspeed exhaust. With Deman Motorsport's matching performance ECU software for the now 3.8L Flat 6, this GT3 is now estimated to be producing 450HP.The transmission also received work to support the extra power, including a re-gear for shorter gear ratios in 3rd-6th gear and a GT3RS lightweight flywheel and clutch assembly. The transmission was also serviced, receiving fresh gaskets and transmission gear oil.

All that money spent and no one has a dyno sheet for the "estimated 450hp"?

similar cars, with more miles, have plateaued around $110k without a sale on BaT. the most recent BaT sale was $112k, before fees, with 23k miles.

$135,500 for a Basalt with 20,800 miles.

I daily a speed yellow 996 and I’d struggle with any other color that not equally as bright. So black is not for me. Even if it was the right color I’d struggle with these mods - I’d always wonder about the stock experience I’m missing out on by having them and if I would have been better off just getting a different car if more ‘performance’ is what I wanted. There were plenty available at the time, and a hell of a lot more now. But a smaller amount each year that will drive like the GT department intended.
So for me as the mods go up, the price comes down. The mods are irreversible so the miles don’t mean much here. It’s not an original survivor.
Potential buyers for this car have been more than fair in their offers over the years. History tells us though that we can look forward to commenting on this again in 2025

If it fell into my lap I’d paint it Ruby Star. Pepita the seats too. Take the top off and turn it into a speedster. The engine would make sense in that!
I’ll see myself out.
