Everybody save for a friend missed the black ‘04 listed on the Excellence online classifieds.
It was up only a few hours.
He was the 1st (and last) to contact the owner.
His car now.

Thanks.

My mistake; it’s an ‘05. Low 30’s mileage. Black/Black Good reports. Maintenance up to date etc. No indications of track use and 100% factory paint.

I would’ve bought this one but currently I’ve got too many irons in the fire.

Reserve not met on this one at $94k. Maybe it was the lack of receipts. Maybe it was the range 2 over revs. Maybe it's the market softening. Maybe it's the wheels (even though stocks were included). I'd personally lean towards the initial presentation of a car. Ideally, I think presenting a car as close at stock as possible is the ideal situation even when stock parts are included. Wheels can be a big part of this. The red vinyl wrap on the wing was easy to remove but could have impacted this. WP0AC29954S692436

Yeah, presentation not great. ~100k all in for a car done up like that is still a pretty strong showing IMO

I hated the wheels. They look like 1999. He really should have put the stock ones back on, and sold the aftermarket ones here.

Stock wheels and taking the red accents off would have helped greatly IMO. That said, comments can also kill an auction and the few about the range 2s did the seller no favors. Always funny to me, Porsche builds a race car and people don't like when it was used for its purpose...

A compression/leakdown test and better seller communication would have helped a lot.

New one on BAT with "higher" mileage. Silver with 61k miles and a RS bumper.

Sorry man! Its funny, I have friends who never loved the 996-3 who want one now. I think its because for a long time it was a "shoulder" car (not quite "modern" not quite "classic"). As it moves toward the latter status, and people no longer need it to be the fastest thing out there, it gains in desirability, especially since its so much car for a "classic!"
