Coolant Line Failures- NHTSA
#140
My leak in post #132 is a burst or split upper hose, discovered upon pressure checking.
The discussion I had with the shop was essentially that this glue fitting deal is something I may be best served by dealing with over the winter.
Something does need to be done to those fittings as a long term solution, but for now it looks like I don't have a reason to file with NHTSA.

I'll definitely make sure the dealer reviews the coolant lines on the '07GT3 I'm having a PPI performed on next week! I have an '01 TT with 18,000 miles with no issues. This is a big deal and BS if Porsche doesn't address this issue. Lotus got nailed about 6 months ago for an oil line failure on the Elise and Exige. Investigation turned into a full recall.

Anyone who thinks that a dealership has fixed the problem, please don't kid yourselves. Dealership will repair a popped fitting by installing a replacement casting with fitting... or maybe re-epoxy.
The permanent fix is an after-market solution, so unless your dealership is into modifying cars, I doubt it's going to happen. Good luck even getting them to acknowledge the possibility of existence of the problem. In the mean time, water + Water Wetter please.
I was at, so witnessed first hand... again:
Mosport 2 weeks ago - 1 996 GT3 + 1 997 TT
Tremblant this week - 1 996 GT3 + 1 997 GT3 RS

At Tremblant the 996 GT3 was the coolant hose that feeds the tranny cooler. The hose got cut due to a tie strap breaking so the hose was an innocent victim. Add checking the tie straps on the hoses to be safe on the track. The 997 GT3 RS was a fitting on the top of the engine. He drove to the track but had to have his car towed home.
Thanks for the update.
