I see both. but the correct way is to mount the 3pt belt to the seat upright (the block).
you can also mount the 5/6 pt belt to the same bolt. I also seen THAT BOLT replaced with an EYE BOLT. the eye bolt secures the 3 point belt like a regular bolt, and the 5/6 pt belt has a clip and clips to the EYE part, the clip then locked out with a little cotter pin.

I ran down to my shop yesterday evening to take care of the remaining maintenance items left on the car: cabin filter and plugs. I enjoy the mechanical maintenance more than exterior detailing and interior work, so I was excited to get this done.
The plugs only had 1,300 miles on them, but they had hit their 4 year recommended time limit so I swapped them. Plug changes on GT cars is trivial, so I don't mind -- it's cheap insurance.
As I suspected, all the outgoing plugs looked brand new... this car hasn't seen much action in the last 4 years. I'll change that.
The cabin filter was last done 4 years ago as well, so I swapped that out and replaced the hood struts that were starting to weaken.
I had hoped to take the car out today for a long drive before it goes to Sharkwerks next month for the line pinning & LSD, but it was raining (and cold enough to be sleeting on some of the route.) Oh well, maybe later this week.
When I first had my Guard plates installed I thought it did nothing—at least on the street. However, when I began attacking corners more aggressively the car's back end is planted so much better. There is no drama.
The PPF guys dropped by this week to cover the carbon fiber door sills that hadn’t arrived by the time they did the exterior install on the car.
Thanks to @spiller for the tip, I bought a 997.1 GT3 Indoor Car Cover (p/n 997-044-000-09) to accommodate the RS wing. It fits perfectly, but the hang tag denoting an RS bothers me… so I whipped up a new one. Problem solved. If you all are as particular as me, I’ve attached the file below. Print it at 1.75 inches heigh, by 3.25 inches wide.
In issue 5 of 000 magazine there is a GT3 like yours. Could it be yours?
@JJT I think you mean this one? Nope, that's a European car, but it looks like a similar spec to mine. That said, if @stout ever wants to do "GT3 through the ages" article, I'll volunteer my cars to cover 996/997/991 generations :-)

IMHO, the best part of this thread was the absolute "revelation" about the efficacy and utility of high-end steam cleaners! Just pulled the trigger on a used vx5000! This is not going to be good for my marriage as I spend hours in the garage cleaning every nook and cranny on my cars!

I also bought a VX5000 because of this thread. Works well on leather seats.

Want me to really blow your mind? Best way to clean the HVAC system: pull the cabin filter and steam all the vents. Install a new cabin filter. It’ll blow out any dust or funky smells.
Went down to my shop to wash the car before it heads over to Shark Werks next week, and waiting for me was the driver’s side arm rest cover that I ordered back in October. I honestly thought the order was canceled, so it was a welcome surprise!
It was an easy swap, pull the pin circled in red, swap in the new one and reinstall the pin. It’s gratifying to have a perfect door card.
