I got sucked in by some of his videos thinking he was a real car guy trying to show what can be done or accomplished on a modest budget. Now it's clear he's the auto equivalent of johnny Knoxville just out for ratings.

Idiot savant or not you gotta see how his LS swap turns out on his 996. He did do about 70 - 80% of taking the motor out by himself. I predict he is going to face a lot of issues getting the old stuff to function like they are suppose to. I would really be surprise if he can pull this off and make it run even better than before.

I will not watch it. 70-80% his self does not impress. He still has a hired gun to bail him out. I'm sure between that and paid ads, it'll work out fine. Again, the dude has zero credibility as a car guy for willful engine mutilation.

The challenge now is to get the car's computer to communicate with the LS engine.

Just me... but why wouldn't they jack the engine and transmission in place and then fit the mounting piece from the top?

NM... I see some accessories maybe bolted on top of the mount...

The motor mounts need to go up and over the top of the car's frame where it gets bolted down. Due to clearance issues, they had to use a seesaw motion to get it mounted. This was not an easy task but they did it.

Anthony, what makes a car guy "real" anyways? Curious.

What makes a wine good? What makes a beer good? Why is one red head hot and another not? It's an experience, attitude, and know it when you meet them kind of thing.

Hoovie is automotive scum or entertainment at best. Destroying a Kia for fun would be hilarious but willfully destroying a 911 is something no real car guy would do. He should open a shop and call it jackass auto and they can have a show about it on MTV. It it could be the only auto show worse than top gear USA.

Top ten Porsche engine swaps. The 996 with the LS3 sounds awesome.

I'm a car guy. I have no problem with what he did and would do it in a heart beat if I knew my engine was on its way out and I was going for a LS swap.

that's what real car guys do.

Opinions are like ********

The only problem I have with this v8 swap is hacking/cutting the rear body away to make it fit, its a permanent mod and a bit ugly.

It would have been a little more professional if the guy had fabbed a very nice replacement that worked with the v8 and was neatly welded in place etc.

I guess he doesn't care as the car was very cheap and he just wants cheap fun, different if it was a car in better shape with low miles.
