$1,250 + you arrange shipping and it is yours. It is 356lb and was shipped to me on the pallet, so that will give you an idea how much to pay for shipping.

PM me if interested in this.

Transmission "part" sticker picture.

THIS DEAL IS SO RIGHT THAT IT WILL BE SO WRONG FOR OP NOT TO SNAG THIS ASAP! NOW! PRONTO!

That's damn cheap for a piece of Rennlist 996 lore there!

Of course if you purchase and install this transmission you may have odd urges to take shirtless pictures of yourself and post them on the internet. We can't help you much there though.

Went through my records and found the original Paypal receipt for it, and it has a link to the listing. So OP, you can verify when/where I got the tranny.

$25k? Lol

Let this be an expensive lesson never to buy an autotragic next time.

Way to step it up Kalashnikov, but wtf do you still have that tranny? After all this time?

As for shipping, you may want to check out uShip for larger items like this.

Oh, and also find a good Indy in your area.

First of all krazyk86cu, I feel your pain. Nothing worse than buying a car (regardless if it's a Porsche or not) and just a few weeks down the road have catastrophic transmission/torque conv failure. I agree with all the posts, I wouldn't dare put $25K into this car. I'd snag that transmission from Kalashnikov while it was still available. This whole story makes me want to go out into my garage and pray over my '03 cabriolet.

Well, once I sold the 996 I posted it on the CL a few times, nobody was interested. I called a couple German repair shops in Phoenix saying that I have a 722.6 Porsche Tip, they weren't interested. Mercedes tips generally don't fail, hence there isn't huge demand for them. It has been a garage ornament for 1.5 years now.

Missing KrazyK is like missing the burn when you pee - you don't.

The problem is that there are two KKs. The first is actually helpful, pretty knowledgable, and sometimes even a little funny. The second, however, is a complete jackass that can't stop ranting about how the 996/M96 is the worst thing in the world and should all be less than $5.

The former I kinda miss. The later is hopefully trapped under an improperly supported engine that he was removing for no good purpose.

Sorry, krazyk86cu, Kalish's tranny is no longer available. I just bought it.

J/K. Hey, this sounds fantastic.... you'll be all set for less than the price of a set of tires. Shipping should be about $300. That's what it cost for me to ship a palletized motor cross-county.

Sheesh - hoping it isn't something crazy expensive to fix. Good luck!

Wow! Just saw all these replies! You guys are indeed saviors! Dors that transmission come with the torque converter? I'm at work all day today (8am to 9pm) so I can't really look into it easily over my phone.

+996. If you can stand the insults and put up with them, eventually you'll be rewarded in some way down the line.
