Yes, I have specific content about these in the hands on class, and if you follow my guide from the class, you can't leave these out unless you try to! :-)

Do you have the other case alignment dowels in place that index the case halves to each other?
Jake, you wanna know the kicker?

I actually have a note in my "build book" from your online class - make sure you know where the dowels go. Both you and Tony mentioned it so I wrote it down.

f%$k me.

ah well. we're back to 4-5-6 install now.

and yeah, we had the dowels for the cases in.

Are these two dowels both on the bank 1 case? I have two but those are solid.

yes, I drilled mine out to pull them out as they were stuck in there good.

LNE instructions required all dowels removed from cases.

No, what I meant was the same two dowels I have are solid dowels, not hollow like yours. Are you sure yours were hollow before?

I hollowed them out to pull the dowels when I originally split the case last year

they are hollowed out 50% of the way and threaded so I could put a bolt in to get a good pull to remove it

Got it. No wonder they have threads inside haha

Bummer you have to split the case but it's just more time and no harm is done. Jake did take the time to remind us about the dowels multiple times during assembly. They are easy to miss.

back to where we were. got cyl 4 5 6 done last night. much more confident the 2nd time around. lol. still did a little prayer to the porsche gods though....

With easter weekend coming, and most parts in now, I am hoping I can get quite a bit done...

It's recommended I use dreibond around the chain boxes portion of the head gaskets, should that be applied to both sides of the gasket?

Two dowels per head. Fit them to the block first. Make sure they bottom before dropping the head on.

They're below cylinders 4 and 6 as shown in the photo. Same on the other bank.
